Joe Calzaghe talks on fighting Prime Jones, fighting the best

its simple, Calzaghe never fought Jones or Hopkins in their prime because he wasn't in their league... The only time Calzaghe became a resonable opponent for Jones was after he had lost 3 of his last 5 fights and when Hopkins turned 43.

Why wouldn't Calzaghe mention this in any interviews? Especially in his auto biography where he states Jones is a shot fighter who he has nothing to gain from by fighting him

He has commented on many opinions and complained about the sport he has been in for many,many years. Why would he not want to come forward and talk about trying to pursue a fight with Jones early in his career? Calzaghe mentioned a fight he tried to get with Pavlik years ago before Kelly was even a name. What is the difference between the two?

Joe will be 37 in March. At that age Roy had just lost 3 in a row, 2 of them by brutal knockout. Hopkins was an extremely late bloomer. Nice try though, run along now.
