    Edit: Saying that I remember picking Broner to dominate Maidana and look good doing it lol
    So many did though. That was considered a "cherry pick" by Broner. Which I still can't quite get my head round.

    I even remember the poster 4Corners put everyone that predicted Maidana to not only win but give Broner a hard fight in his sig pre-fight so he could laugh at them after Broner destroyed him.

    I think it was PBP (one of the sites best posters IMO) said that the term "chino'd" will be coined after Broner fights him. Much like "gatti'd".

    The hype Broner had was crazy. I just can't see how people couldn't identify his glaring flaws from the Pauli fight. That fight was the last straw for me in regards to Broner's potential.

      I was one of them as well and I honestly couldn't see anything different but I was wrong about Maidana, where I went wrong was that I envisioned Maidana was gonna stay on the inside long enough for Broner to unload but that's not how it went. Maidana used his physicality to make Broner lose his footing and Broner, who's already slow at transitioning to offense, was made to be slower.

        I can only speak for myself, but I think it would be true of most people when I say that we had the Alexander fight still fresh in our minds, where Maidana looked absolutely horrible. Maidana hadn't fought anyone on that level since, and did have his struggles in his fights afterwards. it wasn't crazy to think Broner was at least on a level with Devon Alexander, and still might be.

        Maidana was just much better than we expected.

          I get that.

          My view was this;

          Alexander albeit limited is a mover, has the ability to slide out of danger at angles. Broner has the ability to do neither.

          If Pauli was finding Broner so easily then what's Broner going to do when Maidana forces the fight and cracks him in the head with power Broner has never experienced?

          Maidana was looking very good and improved under Garcia.

          That was the 3 lines of logic I was using.

          Bare in mind, I did still pick Broner to win Despite all of that analysis and breaking down his hype still effected me I thought he'd edge out a split decision in a very tough fight.

            Yeah it was defintely a case of Maidana being underestimated aswell as Broner being overestimated.

            The size was a factor aswell.

              At the time I had Broner down as a guy who could dismantle guys who were in front of him (like the Demarco fight, where he looked great) but would struggle with movers, turns out he struggles with both

              As far as predictions go, this was one I was happy to get wrong!
