Let's be fair, all Pacquiao had done at this point was beat a zombie De La Hoya. The idea that he would whip the top flight welterweights he ended up whipping was still crazy.
This is a damn good idea of just how remarkable Pacquiao's career has been. Because of him people say **** like "Walters should fight at 140 right now" and "how about Rigondeaux/Gonzalez?" Might be a long time before we see someone do this again.Comment

Exactly!!...sometimes I think people forget WHY the greats are considered GREAT....the talk of Crawford beating Pac made me feel some type of away....there's a handful of SPECIAL fighters...MOST are on the way out, Pac is part of the SPECIAL fighters ClubLet's be fair, all Pacquiao had done at this point was beat a zombie De La Hoya. It wasn't until Pacauaio put a beating on Cotto when people thought "ok this guys obviously a monster"Let's be fair, all Pacquiao had done at this point was beat a zombie De La Hoya. The idea that he would whip the top flight welterweights he ended up whipping was still crazy.

Me personally I picked him to beat De La Hoya and Cotto just on styles alone (I did have slight worries about the weight advtanges though, more so for Cotto)
That 2009 was a phenomenal year for Pacquaio and probably what won him the FOTD award because it was so fresh in everyone's mind.Comment

Hahaha good call F L O M O!!! BURN HAHA HAHA WHAT A CHUMP!!!
lol just playing, I see ur getting some sh it from this old post. At the time it was completely rational to think 135 pound Manny who had a one off fight with old Oscar that he was way too small for those guys. And the truth was he probably always was a bit too small for welterweight but he was good enough to compete there at a high level.Comment

To be honest, I thought it was a cash out fight for Manny and Roach, Manny was on his way out it seemed, he already accomplished all he wanted at featherweight, and they were saying he was done during the Barrera rematch.Hahaha good call F L O M O!!! BURN HAHA HAHA WHAT A CHUMP!!!

I thought Oscar would KO Manny and then Floyd would fight Oscar in a rematch. I never thought Pacquiao would box brilliantly and remained calm and patient while delivering well timed flurries and straight lead lefts all night and getting in and out, he fought a masterful intelligent fight. That was the style he should have used on Floyd, lead left get out, follow up, lead left, Floyds main glaring weakness is the lead left straight.
Just like Pacs is the lead right.Comment
