Welterweights Need To Forget About Manny, and Move On

By Jake Donovan - For much of 2008, we were left to debate the prospects of a match made in the mind of Larry Merchant, one that had a 130 lb Manny Pacquiao moving up to his walk around weight to meet Oscar de la Hoya at a limit he hadn’t made in more than seven years. The absurdity became a reality when the risk on both sides was well worth the financial reward. [details]

The only top level WW I would want to see Manny fight is Cotto. I think that would be an amazing fight to see. FOTY quality action, 2 of the bigger names in the sport and could really help boxing get some casual fans back into the sport.

I love Manny. But him against the Margarito's and Clottey's at WW....
          It would not be pretty.

Some idiot posters on this site said that Manny could use and Beat Berto as a tune up.

            WTF?

Manny loses to EVERY top 10 welter.
