Smiling or laughing after you get knocked down repeatedly. That's pretty weak right there. Like how Brian Vera does it. He's good at that.
Cowardly acts in Boxing, what are they?

Money speaks a language he couldn't ignore. It's their choice to do what they want. Personally, if I was on Roy's team, I would have suggested he get out on top: Roy after he beat Ruiz. I don't think Roy was at his peak anymore, past it actually, but he was still good at that point, but after he beat Ruiz, that should have been enough. He should have retired at the post-press-conference. This is what I thought he was leaning towards. It's his choice though.
Pac is the big name on the scene and the interview should still be fresh in people's mind, so it was the obvious choice given the post.
I don't know any other fighter that is being mentioned right now that will retire soon after two more fights given the fighter is at his peak.
Unless we want to go way back to Benny Leonard. He retired relatively young if we go by number/age of birth...about 28. Of course, he would have to come back because he lost a lot of money in stocks. But when he first retired, he was Champ and was still arguably in his prime.Comment

RIP Diego Corrales.
However... spitting out your mouthpiece to get a break because you're losing is a twat thing to do.Comment

Picking Corrales' comeback KO over Castillo as one of the most cowardly acts in boxing history is interesting to say the least...
There are very few truly cowardly moves that I can remember, Butler's sucker punch on Grant being one of them along with Luis Resto, Panama Lewis and a couple of 'thrown' fights that I've seen.
Avoiding certain fighters is strictly business, quitting is simply looking out for your health. We have seen enough tragic cases over the years not to call boxers who don't want to end up like that cowards.Last edited by TheGreatA; 12-26-2008, 02:24 PM.Comment

Yeah I like the guy too but try to be objective about it. You're not exactly the epitome of courage when you cheat to gain an edge. Doesn't matter what your name or legacy is.Comment
