I saw the post fight interview with Mitchell for the first time today, and he said it might have been stopped a little prematurely.

Unless a fighter kicks up much of a fuss, I don't think it's fair for the fans to do so.

(For the record, the fight WAS stopped a little too soon, but Joe was clearly on top and Mitchell was all over the place)

Definitely stopped too early. They should have let the fight go on. Despite the fact they didn't, I honestly don't think it would have gone for much longer, but that's besides the point. Bull**** stoppage.

BTW, I just watched the knockdown from Mitchell again, this time in slow-mo. It looked to be as much to do with Calzaghe's balance as it was Mitchell's right hand.

Joe was swinging a left hook and really putting his weight behind it. The punch from Mitchell caught him at a the perfect time, right before Joe could land, and then Joe swings around and falls.

Does it look like that punch even hurt much to you? To me it doesn't look bad.

greater resume? hardly. ottke fought more world class fighters in his title defenses. guys like prime glen johnson. calzaghe avoided glen johnson furiously and fought prime kessler woopty doo. calzaghe's last 2 fights are a pure waste of time since should have lost to hopkins and roy jones is shot out of a damn space cannon.

I think glen johnson might have the style to beat calzaghe. I remember sakio bika giving calzaghe fits with his come forward style and if anything glen johnson is better at it than bika. Just for the record I actually thought bika beat calzaghe!
