Personally I feel Williams is just too damn big for Cotto, with too much reach. He is faster, has just as good a chin, and more versatile then Margarito, not to mention bigger and longer. I see Cotto having troubles with that. I just want the WW division to sort itself out. If Mosley beats Margarito (which I doubt) that would mess things up big time.

I think guys like Margarito and Cotto should not have been paired together already, and should've cleaned out the Mosleys, Bertos, Quintanas etc. first. Then put the winner of Cotto vs Margarito against Williams to unify. One thing is for sure, if Arum doesn't put either guy in with Paul, it will be a two-man show at WW for a while.
True, and as a boxing fan I think that is terrible. Either Williams gets a shot at the guy who is left standing at the end of 09, or I think his other option is to unify at 154 and wait for one of these guys to come up and need to face him. I like Paul but I think he can be beat, I think he is just one attribute away from being a ****ing beast, and that's punching power. And when a guy like Margarito realizes he can't afford to box with him at all and needs to pressure and go bombs away all night, there comes the chance that he slips up at some point.

I know. Sometimes I wonder about Paul's trainer, I mean ****. A guy with that much leverage and you don't teach him to sit on his ****in punches?? Instead he fights inside and absorbs huge shots (he has a good chin but damn) with high volume. It's good to have that style in the bank, but if he used his reach, used a powerful jab and sat on his **** he would be basically unstoppable. He has a wide variety of punches and combos. He just needs power behind it. He might not to axe his promoter and trainer in my opinion. As of right now, if he keeps fighting top guys with no name, he will never make the money he needs, get the exposure or credit he should, and will end up getting upset again.

Well Williams is in a bind. Even when he does what he has to do he still can't make his name big enough to attract big fights to easily. It's a lot easier for a Mexican fighter to do it, just look at Tony. I was at the Williams fight and Tony sold a ton of those tickets, and I have my tickets to the Mosley fight, and I read that 10,000 tickets have been sold and they are looking at openning up more seats to accomodate the sales (according to espndeported boxing). Because of that, I think your point is very important, he may just need to jump ships to a promoter who can guarantee him big fights, exposure and money, because Goosen can't seem to do it despite his efforts so far.

One quick thought too, why doesn't he just fight Clottey, I'm almost certain his workrate will overwhelm Clottey, who will not work enough, and then fade at the end.

By the 9th/ 10th round Clottey will be laid on the ropes taking a pounding until the ref stops it.

Exactly. Goosen is trying to promote Williams in California which makes little sense. Look at how dead the crowd was when he fought Verno. Arum wouldn't let Clottey fight Williams in November and says he won't let any of his guys fight him, so who knows what will happen. One thing is for sure, if Williams signed with Golden Boy he'd get the Mosleys and Bertos and also better fights from 147-160. Goosen seems to have little pull and other then Baldomir vs Mayweather I can't think of any big fights he's put on.

Pac vs Cotto would be a great great fight. Would love to see it. I say it's even money.

Forrest is too old to fight PW. Maybe 5 yrs ago it'd be a great fight, but Forrest is done now.

Yeah I think Williams would be too much for Clottey, but damn Goosen at least secure that fight.
