Floyd only interest is in low risk/high reward fights. Plain and simple! If a marketable opponent arises, that Floyd thinks will be easy work, he'll come out of retirement in a heartbeat! I'll tell u this much. If the Hatton/Pac fight gets done, i can bet my life that Floyd would MUCH rather face Hatton over Pac. Why? Pac may be a little more than Floyd would like to handle at this stage.

Hatton fought two times at 147. The first time he weighed in by fight-time at 158, right?
That's an additional 9-10 pounds from his JrWW fight-time weight.

So when he fought Floyd, his team, led by Kerry Kayes, wanted him to come in lighter and back to his JrWW fight-time weight. So, Hatton's weight was 149 or so, right?
        That's the info I got.

The more you dehydrate and then have to rehydrate it will take more out of you. So, if you have to make weight at 147 and you weigh 149 by fight time, it would be easier/healthier to make 147 than 140.

Just look at what was happening with Cotto at 140 compared to 147. The less you have to take off the better off you are.

Was Hatton low risk, since you expected him to beat Mayweather

Why Floyd weighted 140 at 130? why Margarito weights 160 at 147?, why Cotto weights 152 at 147? It is called rehydration!!!!

I perfectly understand you point. But my point was that how weight in affects the fight. Hatton is not the same at 147 as he is at 140.

Floyd Mayweather is easily the same size as Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and a few other Welterweights.

Only the likes of Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito, Kermit Cintron and Paul Williams are really bigger than him.

At the time, he was a lower risk than facing any of the top WW's that were in Floyd's own weight class.

Didn't Hatton have higher P4P ranking at the time
