yeah but many boxers have up and down periods in their fitness

when in training they are unquestionably fit and strong but out of training many are blubberballs

they train so hard, so they need to break after every fight

i brought this up cos i remember hearing they did one of those tests/physical challenge things with all the athletes and hatton was representing boxing, he was out of shape and lazy as hell lol and just took it lightly and did poor

athletes like cyclists etc who dont train as hard, (that includes physical punishment), but keep it up all year will do better in those sorts of things

a boxer would do better if they were in training camp, but when in camp they dont have time to **** around with celebrity physical challneges etc because training camp is serious

but overrall i guess you could say it all depends on the athlete, and not the sport

I don't think there is a huge correlation between skills and fitness.

Look at someone like James Toney. He can still be competitive in fights, even though he's fat and out of shape.

Which has little to do with 'amazing fitness' and everything to do with his amazing skill set.

Table Tennis players do have to be pretty fit. But I wouldn't say they're super-fit. I

                    lols. awesome skill there.

I forgot to say, the best squash players really are super fit. Anyone who's played squash competitively will know that you need to be pretty fit to be a squash player.

WHAT? Jerome bettis? He wasn't fit and it's true they have long periods of rest
