        A.K.A Steroids

But seriously, like someone mentioned earler Boxers combine extreme mental and physical fitness while getting punched in the face. Lose your concentration in a Basketball game and you concede 2 points, Lose concentration in a long distance race and you lose ground to other runners, Lose concentration in the ring and you get KTFO with broken bones and possible serious damage. Boxers are the best athletes in the world

Just a thought... Emanuel Steward said when he took on Jermain Taylor as a trainee, that JT was a natural athlete. He said that Jermain was still very technically raw and that he had made it to the top on pure athletic ability. His former trainer Pat Burns said that Jermain would have been world class no matter which sport he set his heart to... basketball, baseball, etc. Now, I've seen JT play a little 1-on-1 basketball with his wife on one of the HBO Countdowns... He definately won't be getting any calls from the NBA, but I agree that he has natural athletic ability... at least enough to make up for where technique leaves off.

Boxers imo couldn't compete in an Ironman event.
            ^ Definitely tri-athletes.

            By a landslide.

Obviously this board is going to be a bit biased, but for the most part the athletes mentioned in this thread only have to be good at one sport.

These tri-athletes have to be able to swim for almost a mile, usually in either a lake, river, or ocean (not some heated swimming pool)...

            Then...

They have to get into cycling gear...and then cycle for around 24 miles...

            Then...

They have to go and then run another 6 miles.

Sorry, these guys are the best athletes on the planet, hands down.

All easy and anyone can do them. Not everyone can box. All of them just require stamina nothing special about them at all.

Good point.. I'm sure being damn good at several events is much more difficult than being worldclass at a single event.
