if you can make 147, what is the point of weight draining to 140, just to hydrate to 147 the next day, thats ******. If pac and his team are begging for the fight like they are, its mayweather who is the one who decides what. either way, i just dont see the logic "the fight should be at 140 so mayweather can drain himself and pac is his best at 140 even though they will both weigh in at 147 on fight night"

Mayweathers boxing sense is far more astute than pacmans, if mayweather saw that oscar was just going to stand there like he did and be a target, about half the fighters at welterweight would have pounded him like that. im not dissing pacman, but im sorry, DLH actually exchanged with mayweather, pacman just pummeled a guy standing there to be hit.

Yes, we will continue to agree with this topic.

The logic was told by Freddie: Make Floyd work to make the weight so it could take something out of him.

We know it because we pay attention to the interviews and understand the logic behind it. We have seen what "making weight" does...especially to an inactive fighter.

You can say it a million times, and I don't know if certain posters will get it.

The simple question of: If Manny fought Oscar at 147 why can't he fight Floyd at 147"...should have been all there was to it, but...LOL

it's a procedure to hydrate, a norm. it's not necessary but that just how it is, most boxer are use to this routine and skipping it might cause them

another reason is to ensure both boxers are at around 147. pbf is naturally bigger, pacquioa's camp just doesn't want mayweather to come in significantly bigger than him on fight night. they are both best at jww, you should be aware of this

junior welter weight is their league, welterweight is margarito/williams/cotto

try to understand the concept, its not hard

If you are weight-drained, you have no energy to fight and think.

Pac did look very good as always. The best thing to take from that fight is that Pac has carried the weight in two straight fights...147+ by fight-time. That's good to know when he fights the other 140 division fighters.
the weight has less to do with dlh's perfomance than what some people suggests. dlh's weight was kinda fishy though. he looked like he weighed more than 147.

Considering Floyd comes in at 149 for his WW bouts, just like many JrWW come in for fight time for their bouts at 140; your point would be?

Do you think Floyd has grown?
And if so, if he did put on weight and can't lose it, maybe it says something about where he is at in his career.

You can always put a cap on the fight for fight time weight in the contract.

Plus, wouldn't this give more credit to Floyd for fighting Oscar at 154, especially since Oscar was at 164+ by fight time supposedly?

I say fight the Fighter not the Weight.

If Floyd comes in heavier, that's on him. He hasn't looked better since moving up in weight anyway. And before you say, "see, that is why the fight should be lower so he can come in lower," as if that is helping him. At this stage, we don't know so we should let it be up to him where he feels comfortable.

that's your opinion. not saying its wrong. just saw both fights in a different way

Freddie suggested it was the weight...as well as the famous "Oscar can't pull the trigger."

If Oscar weighed in more than 147, what was Pac's weight then since he was listed as two pounds more (I think) by fight time

If it was Pac's performance, would he have done the same against a Prime Oscar at 147? The version that fought EPO-Shane Mosley in the first fight.

i agree that mayweather is far more skilled than pac. no denying that. but dlh "just standing there" seemed that way because he was not able to find pac with his jab. he just seemed to give up right about the third round. he just waited for an opportunity to land a power punch and ko pac (which i believe he could have)

while watching the fight at first, i thought dlh was going easy on pac. then i realized he was really uncomfortable with the in-out style, head movement, and the southpaw stance
