another reason is to ensure both boxers are at around 147. pbf is naturally bigger, pacquioa's camp just doesn't want mayweather to come in significantly bigger than him on fight night. they are both best at jww, you should be aware of this

junior welter weight is their league, welterweight is margarito/williams/cotto

try to understand the concept, its not hard
First of all dont talk down to me as if you are explaining some novel concept to me, because there are more variables to your "concept" than you are willing to awknowledge.

First of all, floyd hasnt fought at jrWW in 3 years, Pacman has never fought at jrWW, so in reality, you have no idea at all how good they are in 2008 at this point at jrWW.

Pacmans camp doesnt want mayweather to come in signifigantly bigger? Mayweather comes in at the weight he fights at, no more than 1 or 2 pounds over, hes ALWAYS been like that. You think a guy like mayweather is gonna hydrate to 15 plus pounds?

Also, Hydrating isnt "procedure" hydrating is just what fighters do when they cut a signifigant amount of weight and its a good way to cut corners when you want to fight in a smaller division, since there is no same day weigh in, you can use that to your advantage and manipulate your weight the next day. Pacman does this, Mayweather does not.

If pac and his team are so damn confident they can beat mayweather, then they shouldnt have to worry about weight, age or any other issue, because mayweather sure didint worry about any of that when he gave into oscars every demand.

Do you think Floyd has grown?
And if so, if he did put on weight and can't lose it, maybe it says something about where he is at in his career.

You can always put a cap on the fight for fight time weight in the contract.

Plus, wouldn't this give more credit to Floyd for fighting Oscar at 154, especially since Oscar was at 164+ by fight time supposedly?

I say fight the Fighter not the Weight.

If Floyd comes in heavier, that's on him. He hasn't looked better since moving up in weight anyway. And before you say, "see, that is why the fight should be lower so he can come in lower," as if that is helping him. At this stage, we don't know so we should let it be up to him where he feels comfortable.

read my post again and try to comprehend what was said, take your time

but yeah it's late over here

      good night man, good game

If it was Pac's performance, would he have done the same against a Prime Oscar at 147? The version that fought EPO-Shane Mosley in the first fight.
i think that roach himself did not believe that pac can ko dlh. both sides gave reasons why this match was not a mismatch. remember the "injured shoulder", "schooled by calderon", "whooped by valero" from the dlh camp? what about the "pac koing bigger dudes" from pac's side? its all part of the promotion to convince casual fans that it is a close match. unexpectedly, pac did the unthinkable and that was because of his fight plan....

ps. don't mind people disagreeing with me. that's just how i see it

Unfortunately, what we found out was true, oscar really did get a black eye from victor ortiz, he really did get schooled by calderon and he really was struggling with edwin valero. Those things were for real, i didnt think they would factor into the fight, but sadly, those sparring matches were a troubling sign, since apparently oscar was hardly even competitive.

              good game
this reminds me of another messageboard i was just at where someone countered my point with "you ******** just dont get it, and thats why i dont need to argue with you".

As opposed to declaring yourself the winner of the argument, refuting my points.

Na man, calderon in an interview discussed it, however one thing calderon was awknowledging was that pac and calderon are NOT the same kind of fighter, but he did give an interview on it. he didint diss DLH neither.

As far as ortiz battering oscar in sparring, yes, i read that on espn.com in light of his win on the undercard.

With those two having been true, sadly i see no reason not to believe valero probably did put it on oscar. Which i dont like saying because sparring is where you work on your mistakes, but when you are getting your ass kicked, thats not really that cool.

i'm sure pac had his problems during sparring. they just decided not to put it out there because it would piss a lot of people for the farce of a fight they thought it already is. still, not taking anything from pac's win. it was a brilliant performace imo.
