Come in healthy; fight at a healthy weight.

If you want to fight some guy two divisions heavier then you, go old school like Langford and the boys did. Just Make The Fight without divisions. Name vs. Name not Weight vs. Weight.

Every discussion like this makes me appreciate Chris Byrd more and many of the Old timers.

So, if I'm at a fight-time weight of say, 147; I'm fighting as a welterweight. If you want to cut further even though you will be unhealthy; that's your risk.
For millions of dollars fighters will ignore sanity and this is common knowledge. Just like old fighters who continue to fight wayyyyyyyy past their primes fighters will continue to cut weight to get big fights. A responsiable sport sometimes has to protect fighters from themselves.

And who's gonna sanction that? Come on be realistic we don't live in fairytale land.

Do you see what you are talking about?

These guys are "FIGHTERS"; they are the minority already because they are beating the **** out of each other for MONEY.

It's their job to train and get in shape and it's their job to show up healthy.

If they lose because they were weight-drained they will learn and hopefully others will learn from them..and if they don't, well, it's on them.

And if fighters are dying, whose fault is it really?

It's the fighters for trying to fight in a division they shouldn't be fighting at.

No it's both their job and the Boxing commissions job
and again sometimes the boxing commission has to step in and protect fighter from themselves the end.

Ah, they sanctioned Roy vs. Ruiz

                They sanctioned Holyfield vs. Valuev.

They sanctioned Byrd vs. the HWs. Byrd had to use weights in his pockets.

                  Wrong!!!!!

Millions of dollars and contract agreements are at stake. They shouldn't have to risk all that because certin fan's of a certin fighters have excuses why their number 1 guy lost.

So you are telling me it's fair for one fighter who fights at 147 who shows up at 149 by fight time to fight someone that is 147 weigh-in but shows up at 160+ by fight time?
How is that sanctioned? You now have a WW vs. MM

And they fought at heavyweight where you can come in as heavy as you want. That was the worst example that you could have used.
