i think wlad needs credit for turning his career around. after he got knocked out a couple times he got stronger. he could have just as easily turned into a michael grant. if you want to challange how good they are what do you propose them to do? i do not see anything they can do any different than taking on all challanges and beating them all. thats all that can be done.Comment

Ok, I made this post in another thread, but thought it was worth a thread.
The Klits are a hypedob, a PR machine. They might me really good, but we have no evidence of that yet.
I'm genuinely do not understand all the Klit praise.
Wlad.
Has never fought anyone decent EVER. He has been beaten by some terrible fighters, and 10 years ago he wouldn't even be a top 5 heavy.
Most recent evidence: Embarrasing display towards the end of the 3rd round against Rahman.
Vitali
Only fought one decent fighter ever. A shot Lewis, and he still got TKO'd.
Neither of these guys have doen ANYTHING to back up the praise they get. Big deal, they dominate the Heavies right now. One of my mates who is TERRIBLE and fat is ranked in the top 50 heavies, and I reckon I could beat him even!!
Most recent evidence: Won a world title.........of one of the worst Champions (any weight) in history.
The division is wank, and the Klits have NOTHING on their resumes.
Hypejob Klits, only get coverage cos they are tall, white, European, and brothers. It's the quirkiness factor which makes them stars. Someone tell me who either of them have beat that justifies their reputation...

ok as for wlad and vitali being HYPEjobs
first off they are STARS because they are the champions of the heavyweight division and knocking nearly every opponent out. they are the only stable force in the division right now, and thats why they get the attention as heavyweight champs of the world. them being brothers may add a bit to it. the fact they are european and white has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.
next, they cant be hype jobs when they are facing the best opponents they can possibly face and knocking them all out. sure we can have a fruitless argument about what fighter from what era would beat them or would get beat by them, but thats useless. its not like they can move weight classes to find new people to fight, they are stuck in the heavyweight division and they are CLEANING it out big time. you may dislike their fighting style and say how flawed it is, but i cant remember a fight where either klitschko lost a round decisevely. alot of people dislike wlad because he plays it safe, but dont you think thats the smart thing to do? hes a professional fighter, so he should FIGHT professionally. i personally am a fan of wlads, because he fights nearly flawless fights, and ends them by ko. it sucks that there is no tyson or lewis or foreman around to test themselves against, but that is no reason to call them hypejobs. you cant accurately say that, they are heavyweight champs for a reason...
and heres another thing. lets say david haye comes along and beats them, well then hes the next big thing right? hes pretty much the **** and a REAL heavyweight champ and everyone loves him.
ok so he comes in and loses
oh well then hes a nobody hypejob washed up bum who should have never boxed in the first place.
i must say the kind of opinions which some fans have toward the klitschkos are some of the oddest ones ive ever seen.
MY take is, that the klitschkos are not hypejobs, and EVEN if you think they couldnt compete with tyson, or lewis, or who ever you want to throw out there, just because they dont live up to those champions in your mind does not mean they are hype jobs. everyone recognizes the state of the division, but shouldnt you give them credit for being a stable force in the division?
what if the klitschkos WERENT there? would that make you happy? so haye moves up and dominates the division and just because hes a character people will give him credit. people who hate the klitschkos and think they blow will be giving haye credit and talking about how great haye is if he were to beat them. but thats contradictory, as you cant think haye is good if the only people he beat were "hypejobs".
its a good thing the klitschkos are here, because they are stable and clearly high level fighters. so when the next big thing comes along, and gets beat, give them some credit instead of saying that the next big thing was just a "hypejob"
also hypejob is a gay word.
no more from me on this thread.Comment

It's not the Klitschkos fault that there aren't many top "name" fighters in the division. They've collectively cleared it out, aside from Chris Arreola (who is barely a contender at this point, but may get a title shot due to the division's shallowness) and David Haye, who's moved up from Cruiserweight. I've only seen 3 fights of Haye's, so excuse me for thinking that Vitali is going to dismantle him in an exciting matchup. Wladimir will stop Alexander Povetkin, Sam Peter is out of the mix, decision James Toney, and aside from Toney, KO anyone that is unable to get him to fight their fight. And it's hard to get a guy to fight your fight when he is giving you a boxing lesson bombing straight rights and left hooks off your face behind hands-down the best jab in the division.Comment

I agree that Wlad's been fighting a boring fight, but like I said, his opponents can't get him to fight differently because they get dominated by his superior boxing skills. It's somewhat his fault, true, but when it comes down to it, a boring, tactical W is more important than a fight-of-the-year worthy LComment
