I didnt say that Kessler and Dawson are on the same level but you said Calzaghe hasnt fought someone younger and slicker and he has in Kessler
Chad Dawson is going to become a star.

I agree if Joe fights on I really hope it's Dawson. I don't think I could watch 12 rounds of Hopkins-Calzaghe again.
Dawson will clean out 175 but I wonder where he goes then, the jump from 175 to 200 is big and Dawson isn't a huge puncher ahd his chin isn't granite. Regardless he's my favourite prime current fighterComment

Its not a pro Mayweather thread. Mayweather fought everyone and beat everyone at his natural weight. 147 has never been May's natural. On the other hand Joe's natural is also Chad's natural.I don't know how Mayweather comes into it. He retired without facing the best guys in his division. Trying to turn this discussion into a pro-Mayweather thing is just weird, especially bringing 'natural weight' into it.
To answer your opening post, there are Calzaghe fans who want to see him face Dawson. If Dawson becomes a great fighter, then it will be a big deal that Calzaghe never faced him. If Calzaghe does fight and beat Dawson, then it will possibly be the best win of career.Comment

The comment was meant to Ricky. Like I said, I feel that on a slickness level Kessler isnt even comparable. Kessler might be a decent boxer type fighter, he even is a decent pressure fighter but I would never say he is "slick".Comment

In that case Calzaghe is not a natural 175?
He's only fought at 168 for 99% of his career.Comment

Sure. Well Haye beat everyone at cruiserweight, so let's see him beat Monte Barrett another 10 times, who cares, it isn't his natural weight. Infact, let's see Calzaghe go up to cruiserweight and beat a few guys who aren't the best there. He beat everyone at 168, then beat the #1 guy at 175, so now he can go to 200lbs, avoid the best, and it's OK because he did well at 168...
First of all, Calzaghe is a natural 168lb guy, Chad is 175. A big difference? No, but certainly worth mentioning if you're trying so hard to assert otherwise. Secondly, Mayweather didn't fight everybody at his 'natural weight'. Thirdly, doing well at 130 doesn't give him a free pass for the rest of his career.
The excuses that some Mayweather fans come out with are really, really sad. Stop attempting to bend reality so that Mayweather looks better, and just accept the truth. He started out well, but then selected his opposition very carefully. Then he retired instead of fighting any of the talented guys in his division.Comment
