When i hear Kostya being called an ATG and Manny being put in top 10 ATG lists, it makes me laugh how people don't rank Floyd as an ATG

      Mayweather ATG

Two wins over Castillo. Four virtuoso performances against Manfredy, Genaro hernandez, Corrales, and Gatti. Undresseed Ricky Hatton. One of the five greatest defensive fighters of all-time. retired in his prime undefeated. Kicked Zab Judah's ass and would have knocked him out if Judah didn't try to fight dirty. One of the greatest bad guy fighters of all-time. Engaged in the single most watched ppv event in history.

I give it Oscar just for the fact he fought everyone at every weight class but not as talented as Mayweather but like I said I base ATGs on more than potential and Im kinda second guessing myself about DLH to tell the truth

Toney at SMW is a beast and his fight with Jirov is one of my all time favs and he has skills just no work ethic but hes willing to fight the best fat or not.

Hopkins ruled forever at MW and was undefeated forever then to beat Pavlik like that I give it to him personally I hate the man but his win over Pavlik while not surprising that he beat him but that he beat the **** out of him
that is so blatantly biased it is not even funny...

you are asking *only* from Mayweather incredible things, but you have free passes for anyone else...

ATGs should be capable of incredible things or they arent ATGs to begin with. All I expect of him is to fight the best his name gives it away Money May not Legacy May he wants money without risk which is fine from a business standpoint but not a legacy one. I dont rate Gatti,Baldomir, Hatton as elite fighters there was no doubt going in he dominates those fighters. You dont believe he could have fought tougher guys since leaving 135? If you think he did then you are the biased one my friend. I like Floyd on a personal level better than half the fighters I mentioned and he has more natural talent than most of em(not RJJ). Im sorry I just expect great things from great fighters.

What was so biased by the way? I was drunk lasnt night Oscar is not an ATG.

to answer that lets compare him to ATG's Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. both these fighters showed tremendous heart and the willingness to fight the best competition that was out there. they never ducked anybody and gave it their all in the ring. they also possessed great charisma and always gave the fans a good fight. there werent too many fights between these two that fans felt they were cheated. they believed in giving what the fans wanted to see rather than worry blemishes on their record. they also left their careers without people thinking "Man i wished he would have fought this guy when he had the chance."

now lets look at floyd. when he was at 125,130,and 135 he had all those traits that i mentioned before. but once he got past that what the hell happened? 147 is the most obvious. he completely avoided the top competition in that division. and i dont care how many excuses floyd fans come up with he ducked antonio margarito and miguel cotto. it was real obvious in margaritos case. he turned him down i guess cause he felt marg wasnt worth his time. but he took on carlos baldomir instead? no one even knew who the hell he was until his upset victory over judah. so this guy was worth more of floyd's time than marg? give me a break. and with cotto. theres no excuse of why he didnt fight cotto. they said cotto is not a big enough draw. lets go back to baldomir. he fought baldomir who would not sell no where near as much tickets as cotto but yet he fought him. he fought baldomir and made bout 10 mill i think. if he fought cotto he would get like 12-15. so that excuse is out the window. yeah he took a risk at fighting de la hoya. but who wouldnt given the amount of money he made. so that fight wasnt based on glory just money. and then he retired before fighting oscar again which makes no sense. if you beat a guy for the first time and your so confident you can do it again why back out knowing you can win again and cash another big check. sounds fishy to me.

so in closing i dont consider floyd an ATG. he was a great fighter no doubt. the best of his era. but he would never in my opinion be up there with Sugar Ray Robinson or Muhammad Ali. Even if he beats pacquiao i still wont consider him an ATG cause he still ducked the top guys in welterweight. he definitely had the skills and accomplishments but his heart went away as he went up in weight.

Theres different levels of ATG's. People consider Marvin Hagler an ATG, and don't have them in their top 10. Comparing anyone to Robinson or Ali is harsh...
