Very true, in USA it's pretty well known, but in Europe I didn't find one person that knew what UFC was.

Hell Pac vs diaz did 400,000!! again..even coming off of brock/couture i'll be surprised if it does over 750,000.
Meltzer from Yahoo annouced it was 1.01 mill.

UFC has not made a public announcement of the buys for UFC 91, but privately, Dana White has told people the number is right at the 1 million mark. Two others have confirmed that at least this is the number UFC is talking about internally, with the actual figure being pegged at 1,010,000 buys. It was stated that if they do well in late reported buys, they have a solid to good shot at beating the 1,050,000 mark set in 2006 by Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz, and are not publicly saying anything because they want to announce it was the biggest ever, which at this point, is something they can’t say. Keep in mind our trending patterns came in at 800,000 to 850,000 buys. Lesnar seems to be the one person whose drawing power never gets fully reflected in early trending patterns.

Its ridiculous how people make fun of UFC for not paying their fighters enough when the whole reason boxing is in a decline right now is because of the insane money.

The future for boxing in terms of PPV buys is not looking good

Oscar is just about ready for retirement

I can't see anyone else even hatton getting over a million buys

              maybe pac v floyd

we already know pac on his own isn't enough to generate mega ppv buyrates

there are no young fighters on the scene right now that Joe Public know and are excited about

I don't think UFC can put a card like this out a few years from now. I think MMA will become sort of like boxing. Guys will leave the ufc for more money. The UFC is getting some competition from Affliction and a few other companies. This is still the first generation of mma fighters. Forrest Griffin was a police officer, I don't think he is upset with the money he's making. Most of these guys didn't grow up saying I want to be a fighter. The next generation will be training from the time they're kids, dreaming of fame and fortune, similar to the way Floyd is with boxing.

Only Affliction put on a bigger show in the after Pride era and that was a once in a lifetime kind of event. Boxing better watch out! We can't compete with these cards!
                    Whoooooo cares?

UFC is for ****** tattooed trailer trash. Are you trailer trash? if not who cares.

Nogueira - Mir (5x rounds title fight)
Evans - Griffin (5x rounds title fight)
                      Rampage - Wand Silva
Aoki is also fighting as is Kongo.

All in all a great event wouldn't you think? and Before the year ends we still will see GSP vs BJ Penn
