i dont see how pointing out the obvious is taking away any shine, even roach acknowledged it. it's pretty clear that dlh was drained and a sitting duck from the opening bell

Being on weight a week early is very odd indeed. Almost as if trying to proove you can accomplish something and be natural at that weight. Completely back fired. Over training is a factor too, in the 24/7 when he did 12 rounds, he didn't look good, was ruined, and the trainers were trying to conservatively say, you got hit too much. They could see he wasn't quite right but didn't address why or be honest enough about it.

It is a coincidence ODL is in the position of yet again not taking responsibility, and the trainers getting the blame again though. Even Roach has said this. You have to take a good amount of responsibility yourself, Osca thought we was doing well, felt good, was ready and right physically and mentally. He should have a reasonable idea by now if that's not the case and he didn't. Plus, he didn't seem to be mentally right or up for a fight at all. Very odd.

            Over-trained vs. Shot

In the Pacquiao bout Oscar looked horrible against a great fighter.

But was he over-trained for the Steve Forbes too?
Because in that one Oscar looked mediocre against an average fighter.
His defensive skills had deteriorated and his reflexes had faded. Oscar's face was left puffed-up and bruised.

Maybe it was a combination of both - a shot, aging fighter who over-trained - and is now absolutely done.

He's shot. His reflexes aren't enough for WW. The lower weights are only for very young or very active fighters. That's why i favor Manny to win vs Floyd as well (yes i've said it). You see the openings but by the time your brain obeys the punching command the opening is gone. These openings last milliseconds, only a very tuned in machine, as a prime professional fighter, can see them. The weight factor has to do with Oscar dieting so much that his stomach has shrunken and could not accommodate all the fluids and food he needed to balloon back to his natural weight. At 35 your body adapts slower.
