When it comes to skills, I think Marquez is overall the better fighter : I.E.- More skills. He's much more gifted and technically sound than Pacquiao, he does nearly everything better. And the only thing that's cost him against Pacquiao has been his balls and willingness to scrap, because Pac's power and speed always put him on the deck.

But in terms of actual skill, Marquez has the edge IMO, and I know I'm not alone in thinking this. Back when they first fought in what? 04? He schooled Pacquiao, almost embarassed him. Granted Pac was only a lefty then, and has improved a lot since that fight.

Anyways, I think skill wise Marquez is the better fighter. But Pac has the better record.
JMM isn't the better fighter. He is the better "boxer" I give him that, but a fighter? I don't think so.

I think thats true. If boxing were all about skill and nothing else just pure skill and mental ability, Marquez would be the GOAT he might be only 2nd to Robinson O.o

But Boxing isn't all about skill. There is a huge physical aspect to the game. You don't see me discrediting Foreman do you?

You're the idiot, even if you take away Marquez' name on Pac's accomplisments, Pac's still an ATG!

We can call JMM gay and unaccomplished all we want......he's just one of the many legends Pac took care of.
I wish Pac didn't give that faggot a chance from the beginning....he would have been a nobody. But anyway Pac will take that 1 win and a draw from him.

That I can actually agree with, with Manny being the better "fighter". But to imply Marquez isn't a fighter at all? C'mon man, the guy busts his ass in training, takes this sport very seriously, and really lives for it. That deserves a bit of respect.

I'll put it this way. Sometimes in boxing what makes one fighter stand out over another has nothing to do with skill, and everything to do with the intangibles. While Marquez has the skill edge on Pacquiao, Manny has the intangibles.

And as I said, sometimes that's all it takes to seperate one great fighter from another.

I have huge respect for both guys though.

Let's be honest here, Pacquiao was picking on a guy moving up two divisions to face him.

No he wasn't, that was de la Hoya.

NO, Hamed and Emanuel openly ducked Marquez and even said so on a HBO telecast
