Pacman owes him ****. If Pac beats him in a rubbermatch, xcaret here would say 36-year old Marquez is shot. Marquez should make his own name by fighting Guzman or go up a division and fight Hatton, he's been piggybacking on Pacman's accomplishments for quite a while now..shooo.

      So?

      Who has he beaten? ANSWER!

Pac beat Erik Morales and Barrera BEFORE his prime.

Manny is in his prime NOW. So that makes him waaay better than a prime Marquez.

A prime not weight drained Pac PWNS Marquez in round 3...finishing off where he last started.

Hey Xcaret. If Pac and JMM fight again and JMM loses will you make excuses that he was just old and shot?

      lol...I thought so.

dont be biased a draw, and a split decison doesnt answer anything..if it were the other way around you'd want pac to get a third fight..be honest..and who cares what xcaret says????????and jmm is the lineal champ at 135..i think thats making a name 4 himself ey???

No...when have we done that in this thread?

                I'm discrediting JMM not Pac.

YOU discredit Pac making YOU discredit JMM because Pac > JMM

There is no comparison between the two when it comes to their records. During his prime Marquez had piss poor management, like Joe Calzaghe type management, that kept him from ever being able to shine the way he should have.

When it comes to skills, I think Marquez is overall the better fighter : I.E.- More skills. He's much more gifted and technically sound than Pacquiao, he does nearly everything better. And the only thing that's cost him against Pacquiao has been his balls and willingness to scrap, because Pac's power and speed always put him on the deck.

But in terms of actual skill, Marquez has the edge IMO, and I know I'm not alone in thinking this. Back when they first fought in what? 04? He schooled Pacquiao, almost embarassed him. Granted Pac was only a lefty then, and has improved a lot since that fight.

Anyways, I think skill wise Marquez is the better fighter. But Pac has the better record.

I'd rather see Pac vs. Hatton or Mayweather or ever Cotto. Pacman vs. Marquez is exciting as hell, no doubt because they're each other's perfect foil and nobody knows what will happen but by the time Pacman's finished fighting Hatton, Mayweather or even Mosley, Marquez would be shot. Marquez should focus on other fighters to build his claim as #2 P4P because honestly, Calslappy's outperforming JMM in the old-timer beatdown department. I suggest JMM fight Guzman, that would be awesome.

well... I'd agree that Marquez didn't get his shot at facing top calibre opponents in his prime... But could a prime Marquez beat De La Hoya the way Pac just did?

Marquez doesn't have enough head movement to get past Oscars jab and Marquez lost to a double weight drained Pacquiao.

And got a draw from a pre-prime Pacquiao (While JMM was in his prime)
