As for the Morales loss, well everyone has a bad day at the office occasionally. See Quintan-Williams, for example. regardless, Manny avenged his loss TWICE by knocking Morales out. Twice! But credit to Morales, he was excellent.
How much of de la hoyas career have you seriously seen. And this is a serious question and i want you to be honest. You are telling me that a 31 year old oscar who arguably beat shane mosley and was also coming off that huge victory against vargas and also TKO'd a live gatti at the time (2000), would lose to a guy whom eric morales managed to jab his way to victory as pac tried to throw a one demensional straight left hand all night?

Zahir Raheem avenged it for him first.

But I think you see what I'm getting at since you included "if the weight was there." That's the key. Pacman was nowhere near the boxer he is now. Putting on that weight would've been bad news for him. And even 2003 Oscar wasn't that bad.

I've seen plenty! Put it this way, if you had been following boxing for the last 32 years, and you may well have, how much of Oscar's career would you have seen?

I have never been a fan of Oscar, though. Maybe I could have seen more, but I didn't care to do so because he doesn't particularly interest me.

Pac's style annihilates Oscar's all day. That's all there is to it. That's why I mentioned weight. Styles make fights, and Manny's is all wrong for Oscar.

The word "shot" is thrown around frequently by the boxing community as and when it suits them. It is a word chosen to discredit a fighter who they don't like.

In this case, that fighter is Manny Pacquiao. The guy is a phenomenal fighter.

Was Oscar shot when he was winning pretty much every round against Forbes and bloodying his nose with 5 punch combo's? That fight was only 7 months ago. He hasn't fought since then, and obviously hasn't taken any punishment or been through any vicious, brutal wars. So how and when exactly did Oscar become "shot" in only 7 months without even fighting?

While we're at it, answer me this: Why did some people claim Hopkins is shot after Calzaghe beat him, then suddenly he wasn't shot, but labeled a boxing genius a few months later when he destroyed Kelly Pavlik?

In fact, screw it -- don't even bother answering that last part, I don't want to read your wanky comments which are totally wrong anyway.

I'll give you a definition of shot: Ali vs. Holmes.

And a more recent one: Graham Earl vs. Amir Khan. Earl is so shot he was slurring his words in the pre and post-fight interviews. The guy is a human cabbage, and the damage was caused by Katsidis.
i don't know anyone who thinks Hopkins is shot, past his best maybe. Jones is definently shot, everyone thought he was shot even before the fight - I remember all the threads. People were hoping he could pull off the win..but they all knew he was shot.

He became shot after this fight. Before this fight 9/10 experts were picking oscar by knockout. But oscar was dehydrated pretty badly in this fight, but that still doesn't excuse himself by being beaten up by a super feather weight.

Manny Pac made him a shot fighter.
Before this fight, everyone was saying that this fight is a mismatch, that it should never happen, they laughed and said that Oscar is going to knocked Pac out back to china.
Pac proved them wrong, and now all of a sudden he's shot???.....please
I wonder if it was Margarito whose beaten Oscar, would haters be saying Oscar is shOt????

Roach is wrong. He also misused the term "shot". End of story.

Older? Yes, a little. Slower? Maybe. Shot? No chance.
A LITTLE slower?? did you watch the fight??? this kat is not shot??...what fight did you see??? he looked lethargic...futile...withered...wasted…meek…when have you ever seen DLH look like that?? Of course he is shot… a shot fighter can’t handle losing all that weight, a shot fighter gets hit with every goddamned blow that is thrown at him…a shot fighter sits on the ropes and doesn’t throw a punch for almost two rounds…a shot fighter quits in his corner….make no doubt about it….DLH is SHOT!!!

Two main excuses for this fight:

                    1. Oscar is Shot
                    2. The fight is fixed

How about Pacquiao is a storm??

dlh has been shot ever since he found out he could make more $ promoting instead of gettin hit in the head, smart if you ask me but still fighting when your heart isnt 100% into it is just plain ******.
