It was a really bad PPV production wise. Very bad.

And y'all going to stand there and defend it.

So answer me this question. What casual fan isn't going to come off this PPV feeling ripped off? How are you, the boxing fan, going to tell Mr. Casual that his $55 was well spent watching interviews for a half hour while Ortiz/Rusto was going on and then watch Medina puss out to Lopez and then 40 whole ****ing minutes of talk before the main event?

    I'm all ****ing ears.

it's all relative, whether it was a bad day for boxing or not, the sport itself is in much better shape than the UFC.

MMA has lost its momentum. Nothing there particularly excites me. Boxing in 2009 is shaping up to be much more exciting.

I hate Dana White but I have to agree with most of what he said. I watched the Lesnar/Couture fight because my boys are big UFC fans. I have to admit every single fight on that undercard was exciting to watch.

Of course the idea of Frankenstein Lesnar with 3 pro fights getting a shot at a title is ridiculous, but still, UFC managed to do a MUCH better job in that all of the fights on their PPV were fun. I also think that the price of that UFC was cheaper than the DLH/PAC fight.

Now, my respect for DLH did drop a little when it was announced that he would be fighting Pacquiao, but the fight turned out to be a big upset for a lot of people and was very exciting. HOWEVER, the undercards were a huge mismatch as just about everyone said. I love Juanma and I like watching him knock people out, but all of the fights were short, with small fighters. There was no variety at all. By far the most incredible thing was that Jim Lampley's dumb ass was talking while one of the fights was going on! I couldn't believe my eyes, they were actually focusing on tennis-announcer Lampley and mega-old Larry Merchant instead of an actual live fight!

HBO needs to wake up. Their fights are getting ridiculously expensive for people to buy and their undercards aren't nearly as entertaining as those of the UFC.

By the way I am a DIE-HARD boxing fan. I like UFC and watch it when my boys put it on but I don't think it is anywhere near the greatness that boxing is, nor do I think (having trained in both sports) that MMA requires the stamina or skill level that boxing does. It does, however, require much more man-love.

Sorry for the long post, just had a lot to say.

I didn't buy the PPV. Nothing to complain about here.

On the contrary! This was a great night for boxing. It was a great nite because we will no longer have the clown 4 clown interfering with the potential match-ups of the "top" guys in the sport! The biggest fights to be made will be between the truly best(skill wise) and not names or brands!

It wasn't about the undercards. The main even out weighed it and brought in many more fans then a few good undercard fights and a crap main event would have. The production may of ****** but now there is a real huge star in boxing that is still young enough to set up huge fights in divisions that always bring great fights. Now that we are in an era of the little man, if the big guys ever got back to where it used to be boxing would be as popular as it ever could be. Still gotta fix things but the sport did good for itself.

We also forget that on the sports grandest stage although the fights were garb people did get to see 3 really good upcomers. I am sure that there are a ton more Victor Ortiz fans than there were 3 days ago.
