I'd be shocked to see Williams still be able to make 147 for more than another year or so. Anyone see where Cotto is supposed to fight Jennings for the vacant WBO belt in Feb?

      Damn its dead even 65-65.

Problem is for Cotto is that welterweights today are enormous, and Cotto cant make 140 that comfortably. Im actually surprised that its so close.

I'm Puerto Rican and as much as I like Cotto I believe that he cannot win against bigger men who are tough (as Margarito and Williams). He does not have the punching power, ala Felix "Tito" Trinidad", to keep the bigger man away and fear him. He usually wins by accumulating punching damage to his oponents and his "money" body shot. I think that Williams will be too active and too big for Cotto to box him for 12 rounds for a decision.

          Williams by KO.

Yeah back in 1974 people were saying Ali can't beat Frazier, got beat by and then barely sc****d by with a SD against Norton, both of whom were demolished by Foreman in less than 2 rounds each. No way could Ali possibly stand a chance against Foreman. Triangle. Theory. Doesn't. Work. In. Boxing.

It doesn't work in most other sports either.

With that long jab he can bust Cotto up and pick him apart until he has no gas left.

It's amazing how many people still try to apply it though. The most extreme example I found was Jerry Quarry KO1 Earnie Shavers KO1 Jimmy Ellis MD15 Jerry Quarry, all in their primes.
