How about fighters like Duran,Benny leonard,Canzoneri,Ambers,Arguello,Ike williams......just to name a few.

I think that most people will rate someone they have followed or have seen fight higher than someone who they haven't. All the fighters I mentiones are legends, its easy to say that a fighter from this era is better because we are alive in this time.

He's like Barrera and Marquez, very solid, but not at the Arguello/Floyd level, if Marquez could hit him clean, Floyd/Alexis would wipe the floor with him.

Also, Marquez has terrible balance and if Pac can drop him, Floyd/Arguello would really make him pay.

Duran barely even fought at 130, his best day started at 135

I'm sure Alexis drained himself too because being 5'10 and 130 pounds aint exactly healthy.

My biggest concern for Floyd was how he let Castillo throw him off his game plan. Even in the rematch Jose would land whenever he felt like turning it up. On the other hand Alexis did lose to Pryor.

Its really a huge toss up

          Great Post:*****

You assessments was dead on. Floyd is my favorite fighter.
          But Let me be critical.

Floyd Would have not Dominated Arguello for a couple of reasons.
Arguello had Power, A Chin, and incredible Stamina.

Floyd would not and could not beat Arguello at 130 with his C game like he did with Oscar.

Floyd would have to bring his A game with Arguello.
This fight, Would have force Mayweather fight just like he did with Chavez.
But the Danger is Could he go 15 rounds in a war with a fighter who most of all his KO's came in the 10-14 rounds of Fights...

GOT DAMN.......THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING FIGHT..!!!

Yea as Mayweather fans we get alot of flack cuz people think we cheer blindly and assume all of his fans are black or that all of his fans dont credit spanish fighters. I give credit where credit is due and assess a fighter the way I think should be done.

Jose Luis Castillo is my favorite fighter and I believe he beat Floyd but i'll always say that Floyd had a hurt shoulder and that Floyd gave him an immediate rematch and won

Alexis Arguello WAS ALSO PROBABLY THE GREATEST BODY puncher that ever lived... EVER!!!

But One thing about Floyd, his intangibles would have won him this fight..!
but it would have been a war..

THE WAR BETWEEN ARGUELLO VS. PRYOR

THE WAR BETWEEN MAYWEATHER VS. CHAVEZ

But 130 wasn't really that big of a division. Benny Leonard was more of a lightweight, same with Duran. Ike Williams fought mostly at 135 too.

edit: Oh and lol at Chavez vs Mayweather being compared to Pryor vs Arguello. Pryor-Arguello was the best fight of the 80s, while Mayweather vs Chavez wasn't even FOTY. Then again....neither was Arguello vs Pryor, but it should have been. Not to say Chacon vs Lima IV wasn't a great fight.
