I'm totally undecided over how far Froch can go. He's not exactly a spring chicken at 31 & has fought nobody of note yet (Robin Reid is the biggest name on his resume and he was completely shot).

There's no doubt he has plenty of power, but he does leave his chin out to dry which makes me question how well he would do with hard straight hitters like Kessler & Pavlik. It all depends on how well he can take the shots. The fighters he's been up against have looked sub-standard to say the least.

I do think he'll beat Pascal though, especially with the fight being in his home city of Nottingham. If he does, then the big fights will be just round the corner and I hope he can make a name for himself in the next couple of years.

i just think it's bull**** that froch has had to deal with. Inkin and taylor both not manning up to face him. All this crap of risk/reward, boxing fans just want to see the best fight the best. Taylor got his shot to enter the big time why not give another one his. *****. Calazaghe the same. Could fight good domestic fight like froch, like he got his chance agaisnt Eubank or give Dawson a shot. just too many times this has happened bowe-lewis, hatton-witter just to name a couple.

Two of the three you named

Cal Vs Froch and HAtton Vs Witter didn't happen because one of the fighter is not even remotely on the same level as the other, it would make for a bad one sided fight and destroy what little fan base Froch and Witter had.

we'll never know that but look at who benn fought, fought anyone, true warrior. i like calzaghe and hatton but they are not warriors in benns class and are just in it for the money and ego.

He hasnt really been tested yet he has a good win against an old Former World Champion Robin Reid. But the question is how far can he go? He has a WBC World title shot against Pascal. I believe he is the strongest the division of the Super middleweights have. Lacy, Taylor, Dennis Inkin who rejected 2 fight with him and Karoly Balzsay wouldnt be srong enough against him. The best fight he could get is Kessler that would be a test for him. But the Ultimate would be Calzaghe. I think Calzaghe would beat him but i think he is the only one that could. What do you think?

I think Froch is a good fighter with a great sneaky uppercut that he uses with perfection. However He is not a young buck anymore and needs to dominate Pascal for him to get a shot at Kessler, Taylor. I believe he would beat Lacy on any given day. A fight with Mundine would be good.

I am not from Nottingham but I have kept an eye on Froch for 6 years now. I know who he is! And I was born in the US (although I haven't lived there for some time, admittedly).

But anyway, Carl is better than a lot of people think. All he needs is the chance to prove it.

It wasn't really any different for Joe Calzaghe. For years Joe looked great but due to him being so much better than pretty much all the opponents he faced, people were not really sure just how good. Most got their answer when he humiliated Jeff Lacy. That was Joe's coming out party, but it didn't happen until Joe was in his mid 30's.
