If Dawson beat Calzaghe it would mean nothing.

People comparing Dawson to Lacy just hate fat Yanks, or haven't seen him fight.
6'3, south paw, fast hands, and has a heart. He has been on the deck, and won.
Like I have said before, Zags gets a ton of respect from me. Taking on Dawson would just cement it, win or lose.

Dawson should get credit if he beats Calzaghe, just not a ton. More than Tarver and Hopkins though.
Well there was no indication before the fight that Jones was "dead" as you put it. Before the first fight at least which I scored a draw and many had Tarver winning.

Even before the 2nd fight, people didnt think Jones was gonna get beat.

So we dont know how Calzaghe will be until he steps in the ring or how much credit Dawson should or shouldnt get for beating him.

Dude Calzaghe is 36, At that age Hopkins, Jones, Holyfield and a bunch of others were on top of their careers. These are Calzaghes best years.

There was no indication because nobody saw it coming. Who was thinking that muscle weight loss would be harsh on Jones Jr. Who would of thought Roy would not take advice from a Pro and just do it on his own.
Although I can't really say nobody since some people were asking if Roy could lose the weight since he was still walking around at near 200 pounds and didn't bother to trim it off right after the Ruiz fight.

We only had a slight indication with interviews leading up to the fight where Roy was saying how angry he was for this fight because he is "killing" himself in training to drop the weight. He said he was running and dieting more to lose the weight = over-training.

The Tarver fight opened our eyes of what happens when you do that to your body.

Back up proof would later come from Tarver vs. Hopkins.

Further proof from Chris Bryd vs. Shaun George. I think the ref even said to Byrd he just over-trained.

At their age it just makes it worse.

Roy lost his legs and showed up pale. He was finished.

Calzaghe has a better chance than all the above because he wouldn't be losing weight...just gaining it like Hopkins did.

He shouldn't be dead for this fight, but it is true, he isn't going to get any better and it's hard to maintain where he is at right now.

The good thing for Joe is he has shown top performances without a decline or much. Kessler might have been his best and that was 1 year ago. Yes, one year might be a long time ago for a 35+ year old fighter, but then where does that leave us with Hopkins?

True if Dawson beats JC it wont mean nothing and wont harm JC. If JC loses the haters will say we knew JC was rubbish all along and he got exposed.

But the thing is JC is 37 nearly and even if he did lose to Dawson it would be due to age because the bottom line is JC has beaten better opponents than Dawson.

So what im saying is if JC does lose, i dont want to hear none of this JC was exposed nonsense.

Calzaghe's best wins have been at what ages?

What! Of course it would be something, Dawsons beats a man that has never been beaten in 46 fights, a Ring pounder for pounder(#3), a 2 weight division champion, the number 1 rated LHW.It would mean alot!
