Calzaghe is 37 going on 38, is a SWM not a LHW and has busted hands.

Dawson is just after another old guy to fight for a big payday instead of looking to beat young hungry fighter of his own era.

I love flamer threads, wait no I don't, their pathetic. Calzaghe is 36 btw, and the champ. Not to mention the past two years is the entirety of Calzaghe's era (he didn't really have a meaningful fight until Lacy).

It's not a flamer thread it's a sarcam thread aimed at douchebags like you who are so ignorant that you don't know what a meaningful fight is unless HBO tells you it is.

          It wasn't trash talk.

If you honestly think that Lacy was Calzaghe's first meaningful fight, you are utterly ignorant about boxing and probably shouldn't address the subject again with out serious re-education.

oh please oh wise one, re-educate me. In your response don't include the Eubank fight. He was 4 years past his prime and it was for a WEAK, WEAK, paper title. One in which he held for over 8 years before he fought for the real lineal title against Lacy. I guess I can concede his fight with Robin Reid. But yeah, Lacy was where he finally stepped it up.

in boxing years he is actually 27 and still prime because he hasn't exactly fought top notch competition and therefore doesn't have the ware and tare of a 37 year old boxer.

Calzaghe is fighting better than he ever has...in his so called Prime he wasn't as fast and had garbage defense..now he has average defense. and is quicker, but has no power.

                also, his competition ******.

I think history will conclusively show that Ried(IBO), Eubank(WBO/WBC), Woodhall(WBC), Brewer(IBF), Shieka, Veit and Mitchell(WBA) are going to be more significant for Calzaghe's resume than Jeff "hype-job" Lacy.

You will note that most of those listed where past or future SMW belt holders.

Not sure if beating a guy who is the Ring Champ of your division and rated at #3 p4p means nothing tbh.
