Prime Mike Tyson VS Prime David Tua

Agree. That's what I said, close fight. And if they fought twice, god-forbid, they would have to retire. The crazy thing is, if Tyson won or lost, if it was close, he would want to do it again, just like he did with Ruddock. I remember even after the second fight Tyson said he would like to have another go.Comment

Tua's best weight could have been where Tyson kept his weight when he was good: about 215-220. Tua was still good at 225, but with each pound over that, he wasn't as good. Right after Ike, his weight started to go up and down, but mostly up. He wasn't the same. The Tua that fought Lennox was not the David Tua that fought IKE; nowhere near it.i have that in my collection. to this day i'm shocked how easily savon khtfo.
must be the weight drain.
tua is about 36 now. so i'd say 19. he was definitely 200 lbs.
tua was better off fighting as a cruiser. maybe he'd have took better care of himself.
i see his body when he turned pro at 205 lbs. or so...... man so much difference from the 250 lb. guy that fought lennox.Comment

Yeh, Tyson would defo want another shot. And you've gotta respect the guy for that, but i never liked him outside the ring, i loved watching him box, but he was an animal! I felt when he bit a chunk out of Holyfield he should have been banned from the sport, that was disgraceful!Agree. That's what I said, close fight. Tyson is MUCH Better, but u could make a case for Tua to beat him.
That said Mike wins for me, it would be a Fight, close rage, i see Tyson using his better footwork to quickly give Tua an angle (im thinking of the Buster Mathis finnish) before exploding a series of heavy shots on him on various occasions, the body shot - uppercut combo he loves to throw would serve him well here too. He hits better with the right and just as hard with the left and if we talkin Prime Mike then his stamina is as good too. Tua has a GREAT chin but he can be hurt, Rahman dropped him (after the bell) and LL had him completly deterred.
Tyson has a very good chin too tho not as good, if Tua can land a few Big Lefts Mikes could some problems!

He gets a lot of hate for who he is, but I'm judging him for how he fought inside the ring. Of course what he does outside the ring may effect him inside the ring; but that is for ******** purpose to know.
If we had to judge each boxer for what they did outside the ring it wouldn’t be so glamorous.
You have to remember that it takes a certain type of person to be willing to fight inside the ring in front of a huge crowd and be watched/listened to by millions of people. They risk being embarrassed and brutally hurt; what type of person takes that kind of risk?
Tyson's behavior was also part of the reason why he was so good. "Normal/Calm" Mike, which we saw at the end of his career, was not ferocious and didn't have the heart/will to fight. Tyson didn't do it for the money in his youth; he said he did it for fun. When money was the big topic, which he said was after Cus and then Jimmy died, it wasn't fun so he didn't like it as much.
Tyson did joke during one of the interviews he gave prior to the Williams fight that he fought at one point for weed money....kind of funny.
These guys aren’t saints; just like soldiers aren’t’ saints…especially back in the day when rules were loose.
I'll have to find the article later on just in case I messed up on the exact facts, but here is a foggy memory of the interview:
For the ear biting: Holyfield shouldn’t have head-butted. There was one theory that {insert the name later after review of article...he was one of Tyson's guys} gave: he said that unlike the first fight where Tyson didn’t train that much (which even his trainer said at the time) the second fight he was prepared; which Holyfield actually said as well: he noticed Tyson was in shape and was moving around well on his toes; this was at the weigh-in.
Anyway, this person said with Holyfield knowing this, Evander wanted to basically knock around Mike with his head…which got to Mike and we all saw what happened. Mike said Evander was butting him in the first fight as well. One head-butt however was clearly Mike’s fault in the first fight I thought…so I can’t blame Holy for that one. Many fighters have commented on Holyfield’s like for head-butts.
For banning:
I’ve been told Fighters have bitten opponents in the past, as well as do other bad things. head-butting is dangerous and an unfair advantage. A clean shot to the back of the head on purpose is very dangerous
Mike never bit someone before or after so it wasn't a habit; he was reacting to situation.
Not to try to excuse him, but I'm saying: Human Nature is messed up. We should dive into everybody's closet.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 11-27-2008, 06:48 AM.Comment

Glad to read your guy's input. If I could bring a few fantasy fights to life, this would be one of them. Slim chance on the fight going the distance with these two Juggernauts ****ing on each other, violent bout and a tough call.Comment
