This is the fight you should be watching: Its' an idea of Tua vs. a strong, good fighter.

    Part 1

It most certainly did, I agree.

Something was not right about Ike.. He was like a machine. He momentarily stunned Tua immediately after being hit with a haymaker overhand right in that fight. He didn't even flinch.

ike had a great chin. he took some bombs in that fight. especially in the later rounds.

funny thing is i read that ever since the tua fight......they say he complained about constant headaches......they also say that after the tua fights was when he started acting "looney".

you don't think tua could've beaten the berbick or tucker or holmes or pinklon or tubbs or spinks that tyson beat?

fact is tua beat 3 guys that went on to be world champions. that's very impressive.
After watching Tua get totally outclassed against Byrd, who knows if he would have beaten technical fighters like Spinks. He would struggle with Tucker either way.

haha, maybe that's a connection that's not really difficult to point out then
Such fights in the heavy division above all others, will take its toll on both fighters.

Possibly. There was always a difference between the Frazier type fighters and someone like Tyson: one is a plodder and the other a RB sprinter like Dempsey. Tyson was incredible back in the day.

Tyson was actually out-jabbing Tucker I thought. Pretty impresive if you ask me.

You and the rest of us.

Tyson was like the modern day hybrid version of Dempsey. That's who he copied along with some others...but it seemed, mostly from Dempsey. Even the checking to see if his opponent was alright after knocking them out; all Dempsey. Going after his opponent to try to knock him out early; Dempsey. The way he would clinch inside and wreslte a bit; Dempsey. Haircut; Dempsey. Killer attitude; Dempsey.

i know he's not the greatest......but god berbick falling down over and over again and spinks (undefeated light heavyweight and heavyweight champion) getting demolished......will be stuck in my memory forever.

And we have future Champion John Ruiz getting KTFO by Tua...

Were you around when everybody kept posting those hate threads with John Ruiz? they kept posting that video with the gif hoping Tua would get his shot again at Ruiz so we could all be happy Ruiz would be out of the picture. It's when Ruiz was Champ and holding the crap out of everybody.

OK...off to prepare for Turkey day
