So ppl can brag about Calzaghe having the Ring LHW belt, but when I say he's not #1 p4p and should fight on to prove it, its a fake imaginary magazine title, ok gotcha

Yes indeed. But I know a few young cats that would deck Calzaghe on an hours notice. Anyway, nah...he ain't dumb enough to fight Chad. www.acastleinthesky.com
This has been the dumbest argument in sports all year.

Joe Calzaghe was also old, past his prime, in his 18th year as a professional fighter. His speed, power, and accuracy were all down, and he still took on the best from his era and won. They were apart of the same era he was in, but none of them got together to make something happen. Now they've agreed to it, and none of them went into those fights saying they were too old. They all swore they'd beat each other.

Well, Joe won. He got the better of them. Period.

And this is coming from an American who was pulling for Hopkins and Jones.

He has not made major money until recently, and I don't think he will retire just yet. MAybe he will call out Sugar Ray as Laila Ali would beat him in a ***** slappin' contest

it's more accurate to say that Joe hasn't responded to Dawsons preposal which he respectfully submitted after his win over Tarver,.. This article suggests that Dawson hasn't challenged him, and he has...give Joe his holiday break to decide.

Fair do's. You saved me having to point out the glaring hypocracy of your question.

You have to laugh. Calzaghe is criticised for fighting the younger fighters and not fighting the big names. Now it's the other way around. He could fight Dawson, Johnson and Hopkins on the same night at the same time and the same fools would find something to criticise.

i would love to see calzaghe and dawson mix it up, but i just dont see it coming off, dawson would be in a win win situation and calzage would have to put on another amazing performance or else the public would be screaming for a rematch with someone like hopkins or some other young guy. when you are getting older like calzaghe you only really have a few more performances like he pulled out against roy left in him, so i belive the only way he fights dawson is if dawson fights b hop and demolishes him, if he doesnt do that he will have no pull for a calzaghe fight

He decided to fight 98% of his matches outside the "Boxers Proving Grounds". Though theyre are many countries that play great baseball, you dont test your baseball skills in Panama, you test where the best play...USA. Same goes with boxing. Test your Thai Boxing skills in Thailand...and so on.
While I agree with the sentiment that Joe probably should have fought outside the UK before he did, that neglects to consider whether he actually could have done - whether he was given a faesible offer to do so...

But as for the rest of your post - WTF???

A more laughable US-centric statement you would be hard pushed to find.

                    Its like this.

If Joe retires, he retires. His legacy is sealed. He goes down as a great fighter, best SM of all time etc etc. He DOES NOT NEED Chad Dawson to secure his legacy. He isnt ducking Dawson. Anyone who thinks that is quite frankly a twat.

At the same time, if Joe doesnt retire, he should fight Dawson in my opinion. Those saying Dawson "isnt a big name" or whatever are also ******. He may not be a big name but hes the most legit challenge to Joe at LHW and we all wanna see the best fight the best at each weight.

                    End of story.

Joe should just go out on top! He has nothing else to prove by fighting Dawson or Taylor.
