to me......the only fights that would draw interest would be a hopkins rematch, or dawson......other than those two, i don't really see any fights big enough for calzaghe to take.....

if not those two, he probably walks. my guess is that it depends on how much he'll realisticly make to fight dawson....and hopkins, it depends on how big of a split he'd be willing to give calzaghe, seeing as how calzaghe won the first fight. won't be 50-50.....he might have to do 60-40.....

If you're going to pull a Barry Sanders and leave on top, fine, just don't waste our time talking maybes and we'll see.
it is hard when you look that good in your supposed last fight and you split from your promoter and say you make 5 million off the fight and normally you would see a purse of like 2 million and the cut you would normally give to you promoter who always has their hands in your pockets is now your as well. Well you get the picture a lot of damn money is there for him right now. Even in the past he may have been a better fighter but he is now more marketablw here in the states. He may be in line to make his biggest urses this year.....Lefty

I think a lot of them probably have intentions of leaving when they retire, but 8mo of sitting around getting fat (after a lifetime of constantly training) in your mansion combined with the promise of $25mil clear and free is probably what does it.

i heard on hbo, during hatton's fight with paulie, that hatton made 40 million for his fight with mayweather; unf**king believable... these uk fighters are taking over boxing. hatton had 1.5 million buys in the uk alone which is 1/5 the size of the u.s. europeans are making all the money in boxing these days. de la hoya is the only fighter in the u.s making that kind of money. where is mayweather when we need him
              wtf????

tarver's never been stopped by ANYONE, including roy jones jr!!!!!

dawson did beat the **** outta him though. probably 11-1, which is impressive enough w/o the KO.......

dawson gives calzaghe problems tho....excellent counter-puncher, has height and reach advantages.......

MOST IMPORTANTLY, chad has the activity level to keep up w/ joe offensively, which is something we didn't see from hopkins or jones. chad also, tho he's no KO artist, has decent enough "pop" to hurt joe......

joes too good to say chad beats him, and chads too good to say joe definitely beats him, but this fight will be a much, much better outing, than the opposition we have seen in there w/ calzaghe.......IMO

Calzaghe will sit back and make Chad beat some big names. He should look to fight Bernard and Kessler first because Joe will not fight within the next 7 months. Chad will need to get his weight up in order to get the Joe C. fight. He might even have to leave Showtime.

I Believe Chad Dawson has what it takes to beat Joe...I would love to see this fight. I like Joe but I do believe he is overrated..and its his own fault many Americans feel this. He decided to fight 98% of his matches outside the "Boxers Proving Grounds". Though theyre are many countries that play great baseball, you dont test your baseball skills in Panama, you test where the best play...USA. Same goes with boxing. Test your Thai Boxing skills in Thailand...and so on.

Its ok to deny the dawson rumor as long as he'll rematch Hopkins or fight another 40y/o in Johnson
