Margarito Turns Down Mosley, Schaefer Blasts Tony

Come on dude. He wont rematch Williams cause he lost, and Clottey because he was losing till Clottey hurt his hand. This decision makes NO sense. You cannot justify him taking anything less than the $4 million he passed on to fight Williams. And a Cotto fight although easier, wont pay half as much. I dont see Margarito's marketablity increasing by summertime.

A BRUISED hand isn't what I call hurt. If you actually watched the fight, he was still throwing with that "Hurt" hand. You do know Margarito went injured to the fight and had to have surgery after right??

well due to the fact that it took a full 12 rounds (to the last second) to knockout mayorga, margarito might be looking for something a lil more challenging then mosley, but that's just my opinion. a cotto rematch has been in the works a min after he knocked him out, so those theory's are out. marg should rematch wiliams though. but saying marg is ducking and diving fighters is off.

Are you kidding me? Shane is a bigger name NOW than Margarito. And if it were 7 years ago and HBO only put up $4 million dollars for the fight, Margarito would have saw only $250k. And it may have taken Mosley down to the last second to knock Mayorga out, but he knocked him out. To say Margarito is looking for something more "challenging" by waiting an entire year to have a rematch with Cotto is purely ****** on his part if thats the case. My prediction is his rematch with Cotto will pay him LESS than the Mosley fight.

Again, I've said NUMEROUS times I'd like to see both of those rematches.

I don't care about the money issues, never have, never will. Yes, it is strange he hasn't taken a fight, but he has fought everyone people have asked him to.

The fact remains, its impossible to duck someone you already fought.

Now throw in someone like Mayweather who refused to fight any top welter, that is what you call "ducking". And spare me the "he woulda did this and that", because he didn't.

It was ok for someone like Mayweather to make his business decisions, and not fight a single one of the above mentioned fighters. Yet, when Tony weighs a decision, AFTER having fought every single one of those guys,

hes ducking.

The difference is, although Mayweather looked like a str8 beeyotch, his business decisions were SMART. He took an EASIER fight in Baldomir for more than a Margarito fight would have paid, made a boatload of money fighting Oscar, and a boatload of money fighting Hatton. If Mayweather would have fought for anything less than $8 million after the Margarito offer, he would have looked like a bytch and a ****ty businessman. He made more money so he is only a bytch, but you cant compare what Mayweather did to what margarito is doing.

since boxing scribe has been clowned before and already has been shut down in another thread where he was exposed for not even knowing margarito and cintron fought twice then resorts to childish name calling and now ****** excuses for clottey....well mr "boxingscribe" lets do this again.

1. Clottey has already gone on record and said he only had a bruised knuckle and that it did not affect him.

2 margarito had only fought 6 rounds in about an 18 month period leading up to clottey.

3 margarito was fighting on a heavily wrapped ankle that he injured just a week before the fight.

4 Margarito rusty in all, 6 rounds in 18 month, coming off a 10 month lay off, Injured ankle.........................................




























and still beats clottey by UD and breaks compubox records in the process.

The point is, people are claiming that hes ducking everyone in the welterweight division.

Yet, out of all the guys listed,

Tony is the only one to have fought them all, win or lose.

Cotto hasn't.
Williams hasn't.
Clottey hasn't.
Cintron hasn't.

None of those guys have even faced eachother.


btw, I've said for months I'd like to see the rematch for both Williams and Clottey.

I remember all the commentators on tv talking **** about him for not fighting the best when he was champ. So what did Mayweather do........ he retired. And i don't see Mosley on Margarito's list.
