Look margarito is not a big Draw. Thats why the fight is a non PPV. The same thing happend with Calzaghe vs Hopkins, Calzaghe was not well known in the US, so they didnt risk it, and put it on regual HBO. And for the fCotto-Margarito fight I think cotto got near 6 mill with PPV revenues and all and Margo around 3.5mill.

margarito is a good draw with the mexican people with have been proven to carry ppv numbers in mexican involved ppv fights. it's not margarito being a non-draw, look at pavlik-hopkins, jones-calzaghe jones. Those fights combined didn't do more than cotto-margarito and this was cotto's first fight in vegas so don't say he's the reason for it.

doesnt matter luis collazo was offered 2million to fight shane even though he lost a UD AND GOT KNOCKED ON HIS ASS against a JR WW. Now they want to turn around and offer margarito 2million what a ***en joke. HBO is a disgrace with the GBP business partners. GBP is slowly destroying boxing so much to the point that when i hear people say boxing is dying i don't even defend it, because it's true and the promoters and hbo are at fault.

Even before the fight was being made top rank said it would be hard for Margarito to take the fight!!! We all knew that HBO was on a tight budget, so don't act supprised!!!!

Also says Margo was getting Rev from the Cotto fight..

Now if Cotto beat Shane and Marg STOPPED cotto, why should Margo exceot an offer of 1.2 million less? also w/out the fight being on PPV?

The offer is low because HBO will not put it on PPV. But GBP does have a way of overstating their fighters value. But they get away with it due to their relationship with HBO. Out of the 4 mill, Margs should have been offered 2.5. About 60/40. But he ****ed himself by turning down 4 mill.

Well if it wasnt for Cotto, well then put Margarito vs Berto for example and they wont sell even what Cotto-Mosley did. And it doesnt matter were the fight is taking place for people to buy PPV's.

Ummmm, because it says it in the article that he said no. He didn't report to any source that negotiations are ongoing. The fight is off, hence he said no. I think he should fight him but definitely demand more money. Point being, no to Williams, no to Shane - who is he gonna fight now?

Look margarito has options, mosley doesn't. margarito is on top of the 147 division. Cotto is going to fight jenkings for the vacant WBO belt. Arum will probably place Clottey vs margarito in a WBA, IBF Unification bout. margarito will more than likely win making him the WBA, IBF champion. Cotto will beat jenkins making him the WBO champion and lookie here, what do we have for a showdown for spring/summer? A rematch of a great fight that put boxing back on the map for the wba, ibf, wbo championships of the world. The winner will be the undisputed champion and have every belt. Top rank will have all the belts regardless. So tell me where does that leave paul williams? yes he's on the outside looking in still and with no belt at ww he's **** out of luck in trying to pull weight in a fight. he will have to take whatever offer they give him. margarito doesn't have to take this low ball offer and im glad he didnt.
