I wanted to see the Mosley vs Margs fight really bad to be honest. It would of been a great name on Margarito's resume if he were to beat Mosley. I don't think he's afraid of him one bit either though. There must be a good reason for turning this down, my guess is that he made more with the Cotto fight and he will get more the next time around, especially with the +PPV bonuses. This was just a flat 2mil for a non PPV.
Some people wouldn't of given Margs the credit even if here were to be an older 37 year old Mosley, but to me he's still a top 5 WW. Just like I give Calzaghe his props for beating old Jones.
Disappointed?? A bit, I won't lie about that, but I'm still sticking 100% behind Margarito, no matter what.

Money, hypocrisy...it's rampant in the business, as any other.
Margarito beat Cotto in his first big PPV event, and sent shockwaves through the boxing media. He'd been saying De la Hoya had promised to fight him, De la Hoya said he'd fight the winner of Cotto/Margarito (thought Cotto would pull it off), it's all about the money, and it's pathetic.
De la Hoya fights Cotto, gets slapped around by his wife by breaking the promise he wouldn't fight a puertorrican.
De la Hoya fights Margarito, he gets hated by the Mexican fans, and gets his heart broken because he's "Mexican".
De la Hoya fights Pacquiao, he gets dissed because Pacquiao's too small...
While De la Hoya as usual makes the biggest paydays (outrageously so), Cotto and Margarito are left on the outside, looking in...
The theory of Margarito leaving GBP stood up is interesting, but really...was it because of the money? He's not going to make the huge amount of numbers he might've made in the Cotto/Margarito fight, I can understand $2 million dollars upsetting him, but c'mon! $2 million dollars...for a non-PPV fight is good. Perfectly said by several posters, if it's about money, he should've accepted Williams' offer. Sad to say the least. I wonder who Margarito will fight now...
