If Mayweather was to beat only ONE of the big 3 WW's, would you be satisfied?

You don't think Castillo was good in his prime?
And Hatton is just a solid win...no more? Maybe.Comment

Castillo,Hatton,Corrales are all on the same level imo but they are not elite for me
BTW i thought Corrales was clearly wieght drainedComment

Cotto was stunned in many fights already...including against Shane.
I think Williams would be the toughest. Margarito is tough but he is slow and wide open. Williams keeps punching and punching and has those long arms and is 7'6 tall.
Although, if Floyd doesn't go back to the way he used to fight, and just pot-shots and stays still...I don't know if he pulls it off. He has to move like he did against Chico.Comment

Who would be elite?
I thought the same with Hopkins and Calzaghe. Hopkins best win at middleweight is arguably Tito; a former Welter. Tarver was deflated and Pavlik still counts as a middleweight, which does boost Hopkins legacy as far as a Middleweight. Calzaghe, best win against Kessler, who I don't see as "elite." but is a good fighter and a solid win.
They will get credit for clearing out their divisions...not sure how much more or where they would rank in the top 100.
Jones Jr: great talent...I guess Hopkins, Toney, and Ruiz are good enough to put him somewhere. He might be the most gifted fighter of all time in boxing.
It's hard to say. We would have to break down the list of the top 100, which varies.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 11-18-2008, 08:40 PM.Comment

Let's not forget that Floyd has already moved up 4 weight divisions to even be fighting at welterweight at all. Moving up that much and still being considered p4p top dog should say something about his legacy in the ATG talks already.Comment

by big 3, who do you mean? (1) Williams, (2) Margarito and... (3) Cotto?
to me, the only win of those three that would be impressive would be Williams. we know he's way too fast for Margarito and would stop CottoComment
