Margarito to some effect has average boxing skills but strong will determination and granite in his chin. he beats superior boxers by taking their best and coming forward thowing punches. Jermain looked very good to me the other night and like I sad before Larry he will give the top guys trouble at 168 I defintely wouldnt mind seeing him in there against Edison Miranda next...Lefty

Lefty got the best threads ........JT looked like he was supposed to look against Lacy......SHARP! but for HBO or Lou Dibella to mention JT and Calzaghe in the same breath was crazy!

JT is about to fight again this weekend. I made this thread when he took on lacy and won. I saw a few threads about JT and some news stories regarding HBo not picking up the fight and why Show time did. To me The Little Rock fighter is back on the trail and he is gunning for Froch this weekend. April 25th on Showtime. I heard JT might fight Roy Jones and other options were mentioned but I was glad when I heard he was going after the young Brit. While many may not see JT as a big draw now I still see alot of excitement from him in the SMW division. There are some interesting matchups out there for him in my mind. Let me know what you think about the upcoming fight and what I have posted previously in this thread....Lefty

Froch is not a young Brit. He is 32 this year.

This is a must win fight for both men. That is why this fight will be exciting. Both men will put it all on the line to be the supreme man of the division. I've discussed this fight in numerous threads, so i will keep my thoughts simple for this one.

Taylor will control the fight in the early stages. If he keeps his composure by the 8/9th round, he will see off a unanimous decision. However, we have seen him become frustrated in mid-rounds before, which leads him off into the opponents gameplan. If he does this against Froch, he could be finished in the late rounds by knockout. His stamina is my biggest worry. Also, his head will be a big factor.

Froch has everything to prove. Winning this fight, puts him at the forefront of the 160-168 divisions along with Pavlik, Kessler, Bute and Abraham. He has stated that if he wins this he wants Pavlik next. He is a very hungry fighter, and going to America in his first defense shows he has balls. He will throw everything into this fight, but more importantly, he would want to drag Taylor into a war, which he will be heavily favoured to come out at top. He is the underdog, but a live one at that.

My head says a Taylor UD, while my heart says Froch TKO in the late rounds. It really is that hard to pick. I've tried showing as much unbias as i can as i am a huge Froch fan.

Most important, if both men put on a great show that is competetive throughout, i'm sure both men will be around for a while. Especially on the title scene.

As a Taylor fan, I've been trying to approach it as objectively as possible as well, and my head says Taylor UD, while my only real fear is Froch by KO. I give Taylor the edge but either result would not really shock me.

The biggest question mark is how Taylor will perform. Funny thing is, that's been the biggest question mark going into Taylor's fights for the last couple of years.

You two are great unbiased fans! I'd love to give you guys some green but that'll have to wait. I will remember though.

The strange thing is, when i don't feel confident of a Taylor win (Hopkins, Wright), he comes out trumps and impresses me, bar the Wright draw, although i had it 115-113 to Taylor.

But when i do feel confident in a Taylor win, he ends up losing. Could be a sign for thsi weekends fight, lol.

I haven't seen much of Froch but as a boxing fan I think that both of these men are good for fighting one another. I see taylor falling aprt and getting lured into a brawl. Taylor's down fall is wanting to please the fans. It got critizied for not knocking out a few of his oppenents and when he met Pavlik he wanted to go for the KO. He alomst had it but he abandoed what gets him there the jab and the right hand. My guess is he will come out with that bow and arrow jab and right hand. Once the rounds get going he will get into exchanges and eventually get into a brawl. People think that Froch will KO Taylor but truely I think Taylor has the ability to KO Froch as well. My prediction is Taylor by KO Round 7...Lefty

Froch is a brave man to go stateside, but he wants to prove his credentials. I think he will.

I can't see Taylor knocking Froch out. Froch is certainly limited, but you cannot take away the fact that he is a tough bastard. Never been down amateur or pro. Taylor can win, but not by KO. Still, my points are on Froch.
