    No, no you did not.
And even if you did, you did it with 16 ounce gloves, sonny.

      no!!!!!!!!

all sizes should be the same from minimum weight to heavy.we see more knock outs.and less beatings.which damage a person more than knock outs.

I liked to know who has watched a fight on a nice lcd screen with hd? Tell me those glove don't look huge?

The Vargas v. Mayorga fight was terrible to look at because of those huge gloves they were wearing. It just took the whole fight down a bit and it was a good competitive fight but those big ass gloves stood out.

And i've boxed pro and amature, yes bring back the smaller gloves. Some of you don't know how big them ****en gloves feel they feel huge with a lot of padding.

And fox channel program studied and took test if padding made a differnt and as Kball has stated the padding doesn't make a differnce and repeated blows to head are worse then getting ko'd. Even big George Foreman used to say this all the time, he used to get mad at Roy for letting guys off the hook when he got them hurt and ready to be ko'd.

          Bring back the smaller gloves!

Maybe Taylor just isn't a huge puncher? I mean Roy Jones was able to KO anyone everyone but the elite at 168-175, Froch is a big hitter at 168 (he's a rubbish fightr though, Andrade hurt Bute badly only a few weeks ago.

Screw the gloves, just start putting clauses in their contracts that they get huge bonuses on top of the purse if they end the fight with a stoppage.

Other sports write in bonuses like that with their athletes, and even coaches... why not boxing?

Smaller gloves don't mean more knockouts necessarily. If anything, there would be more clinching because more fighters would be hurt or stunned. A lot of fights back then went the distance and they used 8 oz gloves.

I agree somewhat for weight classes below 147 to use 8 oz, but I think it's fine with 10 oz. Also you are wrong about "Super Middle and Light Heavy" don't have drama. Did you watch Bute-Andrade? I thought Hopkins-Pavlik was pretty dramatic when Hopkins surprised a lot of people by putting a beating on him. I thought Calzaghe-Jones was dramatic.

Not that many fighters take serious brain damage nowdays except the ones who fight on forever and ever.

You can land HUGE shot after HUGE shot right on the chin, and half the time the fighters aren't even hurt.

If you take 2 ounces off of the gloves, it's a whole new ball game.

The same thing goes for the really small weight classes like 105 and 108 pounds need smaller gloves as well. 6 ounce gloves are banned but i think for these really small guys they should be re-instated.

I found myself bored out of my mind last night for the Taylor-Lacy fight, when in fact that should have been a very exciting fight. Taylor was landing BOMBS but rarely was Lacy badly hurt. Only twice in the whole fight.
                    haha wtf dude

If Joe Calzaghe had lighter gloves it would only add more devastation to the effects of his blows to his opponents. Everyone knows that he is the fastest fighter P4P at the moment (perhaps history if you're truly being honest with yourself), I honestly would be seriously concerned for any SMW or LHW who would actually face him. Its one thing to fight a man but Joe is clearly more than that, he is someone who trancended the sport and brought it into a new limelight.
Its utterly ludicris that you have even thought of this thread, Blashemy.

See it seemed like every time Taylor had Lacy hurt though he backed off him. I sat there wondering last night if he just couldn't bring himself to knock a friend out. I imagine that had to be hard for both guys. Taylor had the energy to do it but it's like he did enough to make it look like he was going for the kill but he just wouldn't. You could kind of see it in his face every time he went to his corner like he didn't want to have to do this.
