yeah because cotto was the favorite to win, and when margarito one he still was not the clear #1 ww because williams beat him last year. if you have a win over margarito recently you deserve hype no matter how or when it comes. and i remember reading articles that de la hoya said he wants the winner of cotto/margarito IF cotto wins and i was not guaranteed if margarito won. i remember that but it seems everyone else has amnesia. i dont think many ppl hate margarito but just dont think you can call him #1 ww from win over cotto without avenging his loss. if it was any other fighter you wouldnt be arguing this.

I've been wanting to see margarito fight williams again since the first time they fought. At the time Williams turned down an immediate rematch that margarito and his team wanted so all this crying by williams gets no attention from margarito and with good reason. Still this fight will happen and margarito will win so i'm looking foward to seeing what's next for the williams camp after that since it's obvious their only looking for a payday against margarito and seem reluctant to risk losing that opportunity by fighting someone of danger to him.

I wouldnt really call that ducked, He got injuried when they were suppose to fight and after that he choose to fight Margarito to avenge is loss rather than fight williams, That to me isnt a duck.

Its a duck because he got out of a signed contract. Pwill stated they would wait for him to heal, but Cintron wanted to fight Margs instead. Thats like someone choosing to fight Winky instead of Bernard. It shouldn't happen that way. Which is one of the reasons Winky can't get a fight.

Williams is the best fighter from 147 to 160. Nobody wanted to fight him before he started knocking MF out in the first round. Now.. definitely no one wants to fight him. He has fighters respect and nuts in his pocket. All I want to suggest is that if you are a fighter weighing 147 to 160 DON'T SAY YOU ARE THE BEST UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO FIGHT THIS MAN BECAUSE HE IS CALLING ALL OF YOU OUT. Never ever has there been so much hype on this board for williams until AFTER margarito beat cotto. All the hate the generated after that is ridiculous! Even when margarito and williams first fought there was no one here to argue with about the fight. Just a few guys here and there and it wasn't that extreme. Where were all the williams fans then?

the diff is, before the cotto and margo fight, no other welter was worth mentioning......everybody was looking forward to july 27, cuz we knew we'd get a war. i mean. alot of people were even surprised that fight actually got done......we got a war like we expected, margarito was the underdog and came out victorious......

people didnt just start coming out now......its kinda like you got a guy who calls himself the most avoided fighter, wants to fight all challengers, etc. etc.

Last time I remember, Margarito did not want a rematch. He kept insisting that he won the fight and that there was no need for a rematch.

He then quietly admitted that he did lose the fight "after watching the tape" and said that he needs to start out faster the next time.

Then he went on to take out his new strategy against All-Time Great Golden Johnson in a Pay-Per-View undercard extravaganza "earning" himself a shot at Miguel Cotto. In the post-fight interview, no mention of Williams and only that Cotto "must" fight him.

Nope, indeed he did ask for a rematch. He said he felt he had been robbed and when the decision didn't change he said he wanted a rematch. Williams never gave it to him and didn't want it until he beat Cotto.

I'm not a Margarito fan either and I know this. but of course biased nuthuggers like you will always hear what you want.
