I have no doubt that he was a bit shaken from the humiliation of it.

5 knockdowns in 5 rounds? WRONG! It may not have been a classic encounter, but it was two heavyweights engaging in battle. No plodding, no clinching, all punching.

      2). Biased ref.

He left a rattled Barrett get off the floor 4 times and could've quite reasonably stopped it a couple of times before then. Barrett was warned for punching around the BACK of the head, Haye punched to the side. The first time Haye hit the floor was a slip and a push cos he was off balance due to his ******ly wide stance as usual. The second time its too hard to tell, nothing significantly landed off Barrett, it could've been a flash knockdown, Haye is certainly prone to them. However, hitting him clean while his arse was on the canvas could've reasonably been a DQ. So the point deduction is about right.

      3). Haye has no chin.

Inconclusive. He wasnt hurt in this fight. He's still only been knocked down legitimately twice, once by Thompson when he has utterly exhausted himself and one by Mormeck when he didnt actually hit the floor and blatantly slipped on the ring-trim. Thats not to say that any of them werent legitimate knockdowns, nor is it to say that Haye has no chin...but it simply hasnt been proven one way or the other. Not to mention that Haye himself uses it as a selling point, it makes for exciting fights...so what is the point trying to be critical about it?

4). Haye would get destroyed by both Klits and his fans are dreamers.

Incorrect, Haye's fans (like myself) are more realistic than most Klit fans. Haye is quite likely to get knocked out by both, we all know this. If I had to bet money, thats the eventuality I'd bet on. However, Haye DOES have the tools to beat both fighters perhaps moreso than any other heavyweight fighter. Wlad's weakness is his chin and his workrate. Haye has the speed and the power to expose those weaknesses. Vitali has got slower, Haye could expose that too. I'm not saying that he WILL. But acting like its an impossibility is being more unrealistic than saying that Haye might well do that. Moreso, its being ignorant of the flaws that Klits have shown in the past.

5). Haye will hide behind fringe contenders now.

He called out both Klits, to their faces. He's unified his division within his first 20 fights. His first fight at heavyweight is arguably against stronger competition that Wlad's next title defense. Haye has done nothing in his career to suggest that he's going to go for the easy career path that so many other fighters have. Assuming that he will is nothing other than ignorance of the facts of his career so far.

Haye may get knocked out by any of the top 50 heavyweights in the division, that is certainly possible. But its not unlikely that he could knock all 50 of them out either. He has pace, power, willingness to make big fights and his is exciting. Those are not things that can be said easily about the heavyweight division over the past 5 years.

Great and inteligant post....I like Haye and his power, but honestly he has to work on his defence, he has good reflexies and relying on them to much, he dosen't block many punches just steping back or side, but someone can catch him with flash punch and it'l be over for Haye. For me are some unanswered questions about Haye, first is his ability to take a clean punch and his stamina. But right now I'm not sure if he can take Klitschkos, I would rather see one more fight with Dmitrenko, Peter or Arreola and then Klitschkos....

And for the record, I think the Klitschko's are fantastic fighters and would heavily back either to beat Haye.
Man what do you want?? two brothers to fight each other, that's ridiculous it'l never happen, so what can they do, they will be on top untill somone come and take it from them, but who you can compare ALi vs FRazier and Vitali vs Wladimir?? Would you fight your brother??

            Superbly put...

And he showed dignity, class and respect when plonked next to Wlad for his post-fight interview.

As for the commentary being biased... I thought Steve Bunce was at his usual bombastic self while McGuigan seemed largely unimpressed by Haye!

What I want is a world champion, so that boxers could fight for the world championship, like Ali-Frazier, Tyson-Douglas, Lewis-Holyfield. You can't have 2 brothers both being the champ. They are no.1 and no.2 contender as far as I'm concerned, and have never been HW champion. If they are Ok retiring having never been the true HW champion then thats their choice.

Too much to ask for you say? May as well forget having boxing champions and just have a hug-fest

Tends to be the case. We dont have 6 or 7 big stars over here, we have 3 and two are on the verge of retirement. Bunce is always over the top, McGuigan is always pretty fair. Thats certainly more than I have seen from many of the American commentators.

Yes that was an obvious Knockdown and Haye was rocked bad. They gave him all the time he needed to shake it. If it was a slip why did haye keep taking a knee? Haye is an imposter he's not a fighter.

Haye took a knee because he got punched clean in the head when he was unprotected and on the floor. He probably just wanted a little time to clear his head because he was up before what would've been a 3 count if it was a knock down anyway.
