And Vitali and Wlad are giving exactly what HW boxing doesn't need. Two champions who won't fight each other.

If the fans had their way and a unified boxing commission was in place these guys would have to fight each other or one could f**k off. Imagine if Ali and Frazier had decided not to fight each other...where would the sport be today?

And for the record, I think the Klitschko's are fantastic fighters and would heavily back either to beat Haye.

It tell us nothing, Boxing isnt mathematic or some triangle stuff, You're usually a good poster but you're letting your standards down with all this meaningless pop at Haye.

Yes you're allowed to have an opinion but at least try looking at it from an unbiase view.

I which we have more posters like you on here, I like Haye but i wouldnt pick him aginst any of the Klitschko's..Haye has been one british boxer who has done things the harder way and i respect him for that.

Haye could have fought 40-0 odd times before taking on harder fights but he didnt, He took tough fights and even went into Mormeck's backyard...Then leaving NO doubt who the best british CW was in the UK.

If people cannot respect that then they'rent true boxing fans.

I love Haye, such an exciting fighter.

Hopefully he will turn the Heavyweight division around.

Haye is exactly what heavyweight boxing needs! Yes there are question marks over his punch resistance, but thats part of what makes his sojourn into the division intriging.HWs should be the blue ribband division in boxing, but in recent years we have seen the division reduced to fat blokes cuddling each other or mechanical upright fighters slowly grinding out points wins.Heavy weights should be all about knockouts and power.Haye may not even win a world title,or he may do.whatever happens its gonna be exciting to watch, and excitement has been lacking in the heavyweights for far too long.

Solid first performance at heavyweight by Haye, but he'll need to work on his defence to beat one of the Klitschko brothers. His power seems to have carried though and his speed is frightening. Even his chin stood up to some bombs - it was definately a slip.

Haye should pursue Wladimir Klitschko rather than Vitali, because I think his power could take Wladimir out of the fight in any round, but Vitali is a far more dangerous proposition. Haye is prepared to fight whoever though and I think he has a chance against both brothers, but his tendancy to be open to the jab may be his downfall.

As an Englishman I am always keen to see one of our lads do well, however the commentary and the interviewer at ringside were biast to the point of toe curling embarassment. It was funny seeing how tiny Barry McGuigan was next to Vitali, who I thought spoke very eloquently and intelligently about the heavyweight division and David Haye.

As for the fight, I thought Barrett on paper was a pretty "live" opponent, certainly as live as Rahman would be.

Barrett knew if he beat haye it would get him some big pay days, he was slow and telegraphed his punches which meant haye could look flashy. Barrett looked like the occasion got to him. Haye has obviously has bought his speed and power up to heavyweight but his defence was pretty leaky Wlad and Vitali will disect him with their jabs, however I think if he can lad a punch on Wlad's chin he will go down. Vitali I think will beat him as Haye will run out of steam. Mcguigan thought Haye was tiring which is slightly surprising as I thought his stamina would improve since he isnt boiling his body down.... we will see.

I thought Barrett went down a little easily and Haye did have a one sided Ref....

Haye is a breath of fresh air, and he really wants the best out there, not like alot of fighters and he is honest enough to say he could get beat,

I think that some myths need to be put to rights here:

                    1). The fight was boring.

5 knockdowns in 5 rounds? WRONG! It may not have been a classic encounter, but it was two heavyweights engaging in battle. No plodding, no clinching, all punching.

                    2). Biased ref.

He left a rattled Barrett get off the floor 4 times and could've quite reasonably stopped it a couple of times before then. Barrett was warned for punching around the BACK of the head, Haye punched to the side. The first time Haye hit the floor was a slip and a push cos he was off balance due to his ******ly wide stance as usual. The second time its too hard to tell, nothing significantly landed off Barrett, it could've been a flash knockdown, Haye is certainly prone to them. However, hitting him clean while his arse was on the canvas could've reasonably been a DQ. So the point deduction is about right.

                    3). Haye has no chin.

Inconclusive. He wasnt hurt in this fight. He's still only been knocked down legitimately twice, once by Thompson when he has utterly exhausted himself and one by Mormeck when he didnt actually hit the floor and blatantly slipped on the ring-trim. Thats not to say that any of them werent legitimate knockdowns, nor is it to say that Haye has no chin...but it simply hasnt been proven one way or the other. Not to mention that Haye himself uses it as a selling point, it makes for exciting fights...so what is the point trying to be critical about it?

4). Haye would get destroyed by both Klits and his fans are dreamers.

Incorrect, Haye's fans (like myself) are more realistic than most Klit fans. Haye is quite likely to get knocked out by both, we all know this. If I had to bet money, thats the eventuality I'd bet on. However, Haye DOES have the tools to beat both fighters perhaps moreso than any other heavyweight fighter. Wlad's weakness is his chin and his workrate. Haye has the speed and the power to expose those weaknesses. Vitali has got slower, Haye could expose that too. I'm not saying that he WILL. But acting like its an impossibility is being more unrealistic than saying that Haye might well do that. Moreso, its being ignorant of the flaws that Klits have shown in the past.

5). Haye will hide behind fringe contenders now.

He called out both Klits, to their faces. He's unified his division within his first 20 fights. His first fight at heavyweight is arguably against stronger competition that Wlad's next title defense. Haye has done nothing in his career to suggest that he's going to go for the easy career path that so many other fighters have. Assuming that he will is nothing other than ignorance of the facts of his career so far.

Haye may get knocked out by any of the top 50 heavyweights in the division, that is certainly possible. But its not unlikely that he could knock all 50 of them out either. He has pace, power, willingness to make big fights and his is exciting. Those are not things that can be said easily about the heavyweight division over the past 5 years.
