Sorry mate. Doesn't work that way. Marg was never a name like Hop or Calzaghe so that puts that straight out. Kessler was calling out the names, not the fighters. There is a massive difference. Hatton would never have called out anyone in the WW apart from Mayweather. That is the whole point here.

Why did Hatton call out Mayweather? Did he ever touch upon anyone else in the division? No, he most certainly didn't. Kessler has two 'Mayweather' like legends in one division just above him to call out. Dawson is the Marg/Williams of that division. The good fighter that is not worth anything, comparative to Calzaghe or Hop, just like Marg and Williams.

Basically the only other possible fight for Kessler from what I know (unless Kessler's management has something big planned) is the WBA number 1 ranked contender Gusmyl Perdomo, so it's either a big risk or no risk at all.

But neither he nor Palle have ever said they plan to fight Pedermo. Kessler has about a year before he fights his next mandatory, and the mandatory will be decided by an eliminator, perhaps Dirrell and Pedermo.

I wouldn't say anything if he does, it's not worth talking about if he keeps passing challenges to fight unknown mandatories.

The fight could very well happen, Perdomo is actually fighting this Saturday so we will get a look at him, but I hope it doesn't.

I've followed Kessler for a long time and seen his fights. He can compete with ANYONE whether they are at 160 or 175, but he (or more likely his management) chooses not to.

We will have to wait and see what his next move will be.

I'm not one to care about a few pounds either way, if you ask me the whole 168 lbs division shouldn't even exist. It prevents significant fights like this from happening.

That's true. I don't even think that Kessler would have taken the fight if they had offered him home turf and made the fight at 168. Palle simply believes that Dawson is too much!

Well i just means that Kessler can take on so many other fights in DK or EU and gain more money, but still wants to take on US to gain respect. Only problem is if US still only wants to see the local boys fighting each other for "the world title".
