Kessler turns down Dawson!

Think about it: Dawson's camp offer a fight to Kessler. They (Dawson) want to fight Kessler, not the other way 'round. If they want to fight Kessler they should be willing to move down to fight him, especially if Chad can so easily make 168, as according to everyone here. They are wanting the fight, yet they are the ones wanting all the advantages? No! If you're calling out another champion in another division then you should be willing to go to their division to fight them, not the other way 'round! As it has obviously shown up here, he is already getting credit for absolutely nothing! He's the one wanting the fight, yet not willing to do anything to make it?
Don't forget, he wants to fight Kessler, not the other way 'round. Why not fight at a catch-weight? Why not even offer?Everyone falls for it. Good publicity for Dawson. "Dawson is willing to fight anyone, anywhere!" The internet is a big thing now in publicity.

Actually the population is 5.6 million, but the important thing is, even newborn babies are Kessler fans. He's like the Pacquiao of Denmark. Streets and businesses close when he fightsComment

That last statement is downright hilarious, considering you don't get to write the rules...Comment

No. He's a pretty big star, but Denmark is a little to comfortable and "civilized" to really go crazy over boxing. Also, there are a lot of people who like Mads Larsen (who?) more. If Larsen could beat Bute (which he can't) then a unification match would be huge in DenmarkComment

Yes, but I think that is the whole problem. Dawson is wanting to fight other champs in other divisions but he himself, although offering, is not actually the one willing to move to another division, whereas he would be obviously expecting Kessler to move to his division? When it comes down to it, it's actually a pretty odd offer.

If that were true, it would be Kessler calling out Dawson, not the other way around. Seems to me Dawson needs Kessler as an excuse to not fight Cloud.
Also, if he is 175 when entering training camp, claiming he is "a natural LH", whatever that is, is Bull. If he can make 168, no problem, as you claim he claims, then he would be a natural 168, and there should be no problem in making the fight at that weight, if he truly wants the fight.
Dawson is the light heavyweight champion, and he and his promoter have made it clear that he will not go below 175. Making the weight is not a problem to Dawson, its just that Dawson doesn't want to go below light heavy mainly because he could lose both of his titles by not defending them.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 11-14-2008, 09:54 AM.Comment
