kessler has done this his whole career stop being fooled. he tried to catch an old calzaghe and build his career off that win but got beaten now he's restarting bum school 101.

Dawson is not a cruiserweight, I believe that he could still make 168lb.

Maybe Kessler isn't that good, and PAlle doesn't want to risk his meal ticket?

I dont blame Kessler for turning it down.. let him ahve another 2 easy fights to get his rep back then he can fight Dawson. If he fights Dawson next and loses then he has NO place to go.

I do think he is 2 strong for Dawson.

I.l guess/hope it only means that Teampalle awaits the outcome of Lacy - Taylor to know all the candidates. Kessler next opponent is a choice for legacy or not.

TBH, I think both fighters NEED EACH OTHER. Kessler desperately wants some US exposure and a bout against Dawson would give him that. Perhaps career-wise Dawson is a step too far in quality so soon after the loss against Calzaghe. But provided he puts up a good show for networks (like ... say ... Katsidis) a win isn't absolutely necessary.

On the flipside, Dawson could do with a victory over a prime and dangerous opponent to banish the question marks placed against him following his ropey performance against Glen Johnson (Tarver didn't achieve that).

It's a great match-up for boxing fans. Dawson has the kind of blurring handspeed that ended Kessler's unbeaten record whilst Kessler would certainly answer any remaining questions about Dawson's chin with those heavy hands.

                Let's get it on!

Probably not. My guess would be that Palle asked team Dawson to make the fight at a catchweight and that Dawson likely refused that.

I think there's a multitude of negotiating going on as we speak. I think Hopkins is the first option for Kessler. Before such a fight has fallen through we will not see serious negotiations for a Dawson fight IMO.

Besides: If Hopkins wants to fight on who should he fight? I'd suspect Kessler to be pretty high on Hopkins shortlist.
