Would Calzaghe go through RJJ's resume undeafeated?

Which fights would he have lost, why? Would he lose any fights?

Discuss children, I'll give my analysis later on in the thread

i think he woulda lost to hops and toney could have given him fits with his counterpunching style and defensive skills. i also have no idea how cal would do at heavy against ruiz, lol

Absolutely. He'd adapt, and outwork anyone that RJJ defeated, including a young B-hop.

He could have beaten Hopkins and Toney if he fought them when Jones fought them.

I think Calzaghe would have lost once along the way, to someone. Not sure who. Jones made light work of most of his opponents. They were intimidated by his speed, and many got KTFO.

Calzaghe never had the intimidation factor, or Jones power.

I think Ruiz would have been more aggressive aginst Calzaghe, and Calzaghe's desire to brawl would have got him hurt.

Well, Calzaghe would have been defeated by one or two of the guys Jones dominated, but on the other hand Calzaghe would have destroyed Tarver and Johnson who destroyed Jones.

Ruiz would have destroyed Calzaghe. No way Joe would ever go up to heavyweight. The reason Roy was able to do so is because of his build and ability to pack on muscle (and possible steroids). Joe has zero muscles compared to Roy if he would have gone up to heavyweight he wouldnt' have the power or anything, even Ruiz would have KTFO him in 2 rounds.

              he would have lost to:

toney, b-hop, ruiz, tarver, virgil hill, and McCallum

he would have 6 losses im pretty sure of, and two fights he may have lost in griffin and johnson

(this is assuming he started at roys weight and fought these guys when roy did)

at best he would have been 51-6

              at worst 49-8

I think that Calzaghe has exactly zero chance of beating a heavyweight of any standard, I think he would struggle with a top Cruiserweight too.

I think he beats the green Hopkins that RJJ fought but I honestly don't know enough about Toney to say if he beats him, the rest are on the same level as Calzaghe's, some are slightly worse, some are better at any given point in each fighters career.

great points. i totally agree on those 4 i bolded.

tarver i don't rate to highly to be honest. so i give joe a chance on beating him.

mccallum was in his late 30's when he fought roy , so joe might have beaten that version of mike.

i'd add glen johnson too. i think he has a decent shot of beating joe.

It depends at what time he faced Toney, Hopkins etc.

At those particular nights when RJJ fought those two, I would say Calzaghe would beat them.

Undefeated throughout RJJ's career? Unlikely, but possible.
