Yeah he could show power when he chose to. You should see his fight with Hurtado. Not only did he knock him out but it was brutal..lol. Hurtado was out for a long time. It was the fight to set up his fight with Oscar and he was past his prime, and that was a time that was more reliant on his power. Hurtado's( was unbeaten at the time) style was giving his trouble though, and he dropped pea about 2 times.

He also had Roger Mayweather pretty hurt to, he dropped him with a rook hook. Mayweather was never known for his chin though.P

I believe Toney when he says that they were to recover from injuries. Steroids don't make you stronger, they allow you to work out harder and more often. Fat Toney just didn't have the body of a guy taking advantage of that.

I believe him too but it still tarnishes his legacy.

his first fight with J C Chavez was hilarious,i must admit though he did okay second time around untill Julio caught up with him

I can't believe people are bringing up his losses to discredit him. The guy has fought over 80 fights at a world class level in 5 different weight classes, of course he's going to have some losses!

It's funny to think boxing commentators were still using phrases like "***** street", as they did at the end of that fight.

I remember SRL doing so in a fight as well on which he was commentating....****, can't remember which one it was.

Chavez was never a one punch knock artist and he wiped Mayweather out early twice, and he was also blown away fast( in the first i think) by Lockridge. Manchine was right about the Tyszu fight, Roger made the distance shockingly. It seemed like towards the end of his career his defense had picked up.
