No, Mikkel has stated long ago that he would fight Hopkins. last night he said it again, but it's nothing that hasn't been said before.

Anybody who gives Roy a chance at winning more tha 1 round against Hopkins if they fight next year is delusional. Roy himself would have to be delusional to think he'd have a chance with Bernard still, that boat has long sailed.

And as Roy has gotten older and continued to show his age, Bernard has gotten better and continued to defy his.

Hopkins will TKO Roy. I don't want to see the fight happen, partly because I already know Hopkins to be the greater of the two fighters have iced the guy who iced Roy 3 times with Tarver, and the fact that Joe had a much harder time in getting a narrow SD over Hopkins than he did battering Roy for 11 straight rounds.

Not to mention the fact that Roy got KO'd by a guy Hopkins TKO'd 10 years ago in Johnson.

But there are alwas those who want to see the actual victory on paper. And if it must be, it must be. I will laugh as Bernard Hopkins achieves vindication yet again.

      That's brilliant.

I can't find anything on it either unfortunately, but I also think he did mention a willingness or interest in facing Hopkins a few months back.

It's definitely not the one from last night.

What is so hard to believe anyway? Even Bika said he wants to fight Hopkins... like he'd stand a chance, but that's besides the point.

Leave it to Joe/Mikkel fans to lay claim to something that was said X number of months or years ago and never be able to produce the goods when it comes time to back it up.

I'm no being a **** either, I just can't count the number of times I hear "Frank Warren said...." or "In Joe's book........"

Sometimes generalizations have a certain base in reality. I think that applies here.

but money talks, it would be redemption for both sides.

Roy has no hope of redemption against Hopkins, he should just count his blessings that he beat him the first time out. Hopkins is hands down Roy's best win, and Roy needs that win to tout his greatness. Bernard doesn't need Roy's name to tout his, his record stands up on it's own even in the abscence of Roy's name.

And I agree about the Gein TKO as well.

Because Mikkel Kessler wanted nothing to do with Edison "I eat cats" Miranda. And I find it rather hard to believe that a guy who's afraid of an overrated punching bag with a punch like Miranda would even utter Hopkins name as a possible opponet, given the nature that Hopkins embarasses his opponets.

Kessler can fight Dawson, and if he wins (and that's a big if) I'll say Bernard should fight him. Until then I see no point in Bernard wasting the last fight of his career on battering Joe's sparring partner.

Bringer, you make some good points and I agree with a lot of your posts, however, I think you jump to conclusions at times? You gotta look at the politics involved in boxing rather than just assuming one guy ducked the other. I never believed Kessler was afraid of Miranda and he certainly didn't duck him, he just had no interest in him.

What did Miranda have to offer Kessler? Nothing! I don't believe Kessler thought he'd gain anything from fighting him. In my opinion Kess obliterates Miranda any day of the week.

I agree. But then by those very same standards I basically just got you to admit that Joe had nothing to offer Bernard or Roy during their primes. Joe hadn't even beaten Lacy, and nobody outside of Wales had even heard of him.

I get so sick of hearing the same old "Hopkins didn't want Joe" or "Roy didn't want Joe" routine.

If I were in their shoes back then I wouldn't want Joe either, because I wouldn't know a damn thing about him and I could get even more recognition by continuing to build my base at home. The same thing Joe did.
