I know I'm gonna take some **** for this but its a legit question. Does anyone not from the UK actually like this guy. Calzaghe is not an exciting fighter IMO and doesn't really bring anything fresh to the boxing game. Yeah he throws a lot of punches but he's comparable to Juan Diaz. Its great to see a lot of punches but when there is very little power behind it how exciting is it honestly? I look at guys like Cotto and Margarito who have fans all around the world and it makes me think Calzaghe is just a brit thing. A product of them being able to **** their chest and act like they are above the world. I bet if Calzaghe lost they would throw their golden boy to the ditch. I don't see that with Cotto. I am a fan and many that are not from PR are fans.
Does anyone really like Calzaghe outside of the UK?

Calzaghe would never get beaten by a guy like Nate Campbell
who was twice knocked out by the featherfisted Robbie Peden.
You can hate Calzaghe all you want but you should respect him
he is far greater than Cotto or Diaz and the other fighters you named.
Its hard to argue with 46-0
especially when more 20 or so of those fights are at championship level. -
Why doesnt anyone like him outside of the UK then. Great fighters are loved by more than their countrymen. Look at the following Roy has. Calzaghe has never had an aura about him. If hes so great how come he lacks so much appeal?Calzaghe would never get beaten by a guy like Nate Campbell

I think its unfair to call him un-exciting, he has been in some really good fights, ie. charles brewer, byron mitchell, mikkel kessler, jeff lacy performance was an exciting one sided beating like mayweather v gatti. Last nights fight was a lot of fun whilst roy was competitive calzaghe doesn't exactly cover up when he gets hurt either reminds a little of erik moralesComment
