Roy was nowhere near his prime tonight and just looked good against Tito because he was naturally bigger. I was hoping for Roy to pull it out but EVERYONE here had to know that he had little to no chance to win. Alot of us here were thinking with the heart and not the brain. I admit I was happy to see that 1st rnd knockdown but that was about all the actual excitment there was in the fight. It was a pretty boring fight with Joe unloading his usual 60-100 punches and roy trying to land a counter and guarding all night.Comment

Calzaghe might not be at his absolute peak, but he was still fresher than Jones- who proved to be absolutely over the hill. And STILL.. Roy was able to get that straight right in. A straight right that looked much, much less fast and accurate than it did in his prime. Imagine what Roy would have done to Joe had he been in his best form. It would have been an easy night.Comment

Calzaghe would give any fighter in that weight area problems.
People who are saying that Jones would destroy Joe 10 years ago are just bitter their boy looked like Jeff Lacy's older brother in there.Comment

They weren't on Joe's level at all, but they were still title holders and number one contenders. Thats at least "good", in my book.
And the point of that post was to dispel the "any southpaw gives Roy trouble" stuff that people seem to focus on. He obviously deals with them easily more than not.Comment

Roy had more trouble with southpaws than with orthodox fighters, I think that's safe to assume.
Then again who doesn't?Comment

On both guys prime i think Jones would win, but no way in hell it would be an easy fight. Calzaghe is underated by a lot of people.Comment
