He took his beating like a man...but it was a very difficult fight to watch for an RJJ fan.
I knew he had nothing to offer after a few rounds.

I just hope he calls it a day.

Disrespectful and pig-ignorant in the same post. Well done!

I turned the fight off after the 10th! Roy was pissing me off so much. How does he expect to win a fight by leaning on the ropes, getting hit, and not throwing back??

He looked really sharp and fast in round 1, it's just a shame he looked fucking **** for the other 11!!

He could only see out of one eye and had nothing in the tank. He did the best he could IMO, but what Roy needed last night was a time machine to take him back to the nighties!

He eye was only bad for the 2nd half of the fight. For the first 7 or 8 rounds he was OK, but he still only won the first 2 rounds IMO. I'm a massive RJJ fan so it killed me watching that last night, especially staying up until 6am to watch him get clowned and do **** all about it.

Calzaghe deserves credit but for some reason I just can't like him. When he was shaking his arse and **** last night I was praying Roy would lay him out.

I'd say he's P4P#1 right now but it annoys me how he beat a 43yr old Hopkins & 39yr old shot to **** Roy Jones yet he acts like he's beat them when they were in their prime.

If Hopkins fought against Joe the way he did against Pavlik he would annihilate him.

im sorry i disagree, i have just started boxing and even i was calling how bad this is, calzaghe's balance was terrible and Jones never took advantage. Jones was throwing single shots rather than combos rarely working off his jab and was also backing up onto the ropes giving him a target to hit. all the ****** showboating was ridiculous he gave Calzaghe a target to hit and Joe isnt a **** head he obliged

exactly, and that he wasn't very confident of winning.
I thought there was something really dodgy about that statement at the time.

As I said, age has caught up with Jones, it's signs of old age in a fighter when they can't pull the trigger and/or cannot throw combinations anymore, and Calzaghe always looks off balance, it's just his style, it's much harder to hit him clean than it looks.

Jones in his heart thought he was going to win the fight, already in the second round I could tell he couldn't pull the trigger. The later rounds were reminiscent of Ali vs Holmes, sad way to go out for a fighter who before May 5 2004 was untouchable.

Great win for Joe by the way, he did what he had to do and looked amazing at times.
Agreed. Jones just doesn't have the stamina any longer and should retire now.
