Jones showed up just for a paycheck!

Theres not 1 person here who can honestly say that Jones fought as if he wanted to win. Calzaghe ***ing clowned him! He stood in front of Jones with his hands down to taunt him. It was as if Calzaghe was like "u cant do ****, here's my chin" Jones was an embarrasement tonight for us Americans.

You're discrediting the living legend who is Roy Jones.

Jones did the best he could. A lot of fighters would have quit after that terrible cut.

I called it during the 24/7 countdown, when Jones mentioned the fact the if he lost, so what. That right there told me that he wasnt taking this fight serious.

The best he could? Calzaghe made Jones look like a damn amatuer. Jones should thank god it wasnt Dawson who was in the ring with him tonight. He sold out. He didnt have a "winning" mentality from the get go, and it showed!

I didn't see that, he was in there to win but just couldn't do anything at his age. If he really wanted to just get the paycheck, he could have just quit because of that cut.

Calzhage made this fight basically for the same reason as opposed to taking on pavlik, even if this ****** and dubious claim were true, its as much calzhages fault for going in with a guy as past it as roy jones, they both showed up for the payday and both fought to the best of their ability at this point.

he just wont let his hands go with any significant effort.
a guy at his age can still throw combinations.

are people saying he cannot put one arm forward, followed by the other arm ?

im from the uk and i still thought jones would get the knockout, which looked likely after he knocked joe down in the first round, and lets not compare this to the hopkins knockdown, joe was hurt bad this time and jones didnt do ****.

he chooses not to, its not a physical thing, its a mental thing and i can only believe its cause he doesnt want to get stopped, more than his desire to actually win.

still, if jones had opened up more id doubt calzaghe would of clowned around so much.

So when u have a man standing right in front of you with his hands down, do u punch, or continue to cover up and do nothing just as Jones did? Even the HBO staff comented on how Jones wasnt doing anything while Calzaghe was standing right in front of him with his hands at his side.

Jones fought the same way hes fought since he got KO'ed, did you expect something different? Jones would have implemented that same game plan if he could have, Calzaghe just took it away from him.
